EKSPRESI EMOSIONAL NEGATIF PEMIMPIN DAN EFEKTIVITAS PEMIMPIN: PERAN PEMEDIASIAN TIPE INFERENSI DAN PEMODERASIAN KEPRIBADIAN IMPLISIT

Efektivitas pemimpin dapat dipengaruhi oleh ekspresi emosional negatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memeriksa mengapa ekspresi emosional negatif pemimpin dapat memiliki hasil yang berbeda dengan melihat peran pemoderasian tipe inferensi (motivasi dan sifat) serta peran pemoderasian kepribadian implisit bawahan (entitas dan tambahan) dari bawahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei pada organisasi yang beragam. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan hasil dukungan bahwa ekspresi emosional negatif pemimpin secara langsung dan melalui pemediasi tipe inferensi (motivasi dan sifat) berpengaruh negatif terhadap efektivitas pemimpin. Kepribadian implisit bawahan akan memoderasi pengaruh ekspresi kemarahan pemimpin pada jenis kesimpulan yang dibuat oleh bawahan. Kepribadian entitas memoderasi positif pengaruh ekspresi emosional negatif pemimpin terhadap inferensi sifat, serta memoderasi negatif terhadap inferensi motivasi. Kepribadian inkremental memoderasi negatif pengaruh ekspresi emosional negatif pemimpin terhadap inferensi sifat.

Leader effectiveness can be influenced by negative emotional expression. This study aims to examine why the leader's negative emotional expression can have different results by moderating roles of types of inference (motivation and traits) and the role of implicit personality (entity and incremental) of subordinates. This research uses survey methods in diverse organizations. The results of this study provide results of support that leader's negative emotional expression directly and through mediating the type of inference (motivation and nature) negatively affects the effectiveness of the leader. The subordinate's implicit personality moderates the influence of the leader's negative emotional expression on the type of conclusion made by the subordinate. Entity personality moderates positively the influence of leader's negative emotional expression on trait-focused inferences, and negatively moderates motivation-focused inferences. Incremental personality negatively moderates the influence of the leader's negative emotional expression on trait-focused inferences.
