BENTUK INTERAKSI SOSIAL MASYARAKAT KOREA SELATAN DALAM FILM HOPE: KAJIAN SOSIOLOGI SASTRA

Penelitian ini membahas tentang bentuk interaksi sosial dalam film Hope yang disutradarai oleh Lee Joon Ik dan dirilis pada tahun 2013. Film Hope menceritakan tentang kasus pemerkosaan yang dialami oleh anak kecil berusia delapan tahun serta usahanya untuk pulih kembali dari insiden tersebut. Setelah menilik isi kisahnya, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah bentuk interaksi sosial masyarakat Korea Selatan yang muncul terkait kasus pemerkosaan dalam film tersebut. Selain itu, fakta-fakta dan kritik sosial terkait kasus yang direpresentasikan dalam film tersebut juga diteliti. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori sosiologi sastra Sapardi Djoko Damono (1978) dan teori bentuk interaksi sosial John Lewis Gillin & John Philip Gillin (1954) via Soerjono Soekanto (1992); dan kritik sosial Burhan Nurgiyantoro (1995). Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dialog tokoh utama dan berbagai tokoh lain yang terlibat dalam kasus seperti yang tergambarkan dalam film Hope serta tangkapan layar adegan dari film. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif untuk memberikan uraian mengenai fakta-fakta sosial dari bentuk interaksi sosial yang yang diteliti. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa interaksi sosial masyarakat Korea Selatan yang digambarkan dalam film Hope terbagi dalam dua bentuk, yaitu proses asosiatif dan proses disosiatif. Proses asosiatif terbagi dalam tiga bentuk yaitu kerjasama, akomodasi, dan ajudikasi. Pertama, kerja sama antara Sowon (tokoh utama, korban pemerkosaan) bersama keluarganya, polisi, warga Korea Selatan, dan dokter. Kedua, akomodasi yang berupa toleransi ibu-ibu warga Korea Selatan. Ketiga, ajudikasi yang dilakukan antara korban, hakim, jaksa dan pengacara. Proses disosiatif meliputi konflik atau pertentangan individu yang terjadi antara korban dan pelaku. Selain itu dilihat dari kesamaan kronologisnya film Hope secara implisit menceritakan kasus pemerkosaan yang dikenal sebagai Kasus Jo Du Sun yang sangat menghebohkan masyarakat Korea Selatan pada tahun 2008. Hal lain yang patut dicatat dari film dan kasus asli adalah melalui film ini, Sutradara Lee mengkritik hukum yang tertera dalam Undang-undang Pidana Korea Selatan tentang Disabilitas Mental dan Tubuh No. 11731 Pasal 10 tentang ketidaksadaran seseorang melakukan kejahatan yang dikarenakan mabuk atau sakit jiwa. Seperti diketahui, pelaku pemerkosaan baik yang ada di film Hope maupun dunia nyata (kasus Jo Du Sun) sama-sama melakukan aksinya di bawah sadar mereka. Untuk itulah, sutradara ingin menyatakan bahwa dengan alasan ketidaksadaran melakukan kejahatan, hukuman 12 tahun yang diterima pelaku adalah terlalu ringan.

This research discusses about the representation of social interaction types within South Korean community as depicted in the film Hope (released in 2013) directed by Lee Joon Ik. The film tells about the rape case of an 8-year old little girl name Sowon and her struggle to recover from the incident. Apart from attempting to depict the types of social interaction in Korea, this research also attempts to highlight the social facts surrounding the case as well as the director's critic on the social issues related to the case. This research applies the sociology literature theory by Sapardi Djoko Damono (1978); the social interaction types by John Lewis Gillin & John Philip Gillin (1954) via Soerjono Soekanto (1992); and Fiction Research Theory by Burhan Nurgiyantoro (1995). The data obtained are mostly in the form of dialogues among the main character with other characters as well as the scenes captured from the movie. Analysis was carried out by using descriptive method to elaborate the types of social interactions, social facts, and the director's critic. The analysis indicates two types of social interactions, i.e. associative process and dissociative process. The associative process covers three forms: cooperation, accommodation, and adjudication. First, cooperation is visible through the interaction of Sowon (the main character, the rape victim) with her family, policemen, Sowon's neighborhood residents, and doctors in charge of her case. Second, accommodation is observable through the toleration of South Korean mothers living in Sowon's neighborhood. Third, adjudication can bee seen in the arguments among the victim, judge, prosecutor, and lawyer. Meanwhile, the dissociative process covers individual conflict between the victim and the perpetrator. In terms of chronological facts on both the film and the social fact which the film was based on, Hope implicitly tells about the famous rape case in Korea that shattered the country in 2008 known as the Jo Du Sun Case. One other thing worth-noting from the film is that Director Lee criticizes the South Korean Criminal Law regarding Mental Health and Body Disabilities number 11731, article 10 about the criminal's unconsciousness of committing a crime. As widely known, the rapist depicted in Hope as well as Jo Du Sun in the real case, were unconsciously committing their crimes. For this reason, director Lee wants to criticize that the 12-year sentence imposed on both perpetrators are deemed too light.
