EFISIENSI TATA LETAK STASIUN KERJA PADA PABRIK CERUTU DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE LINE-BALANCING

Di balik sumbangsihnya terhadap anggaran penerimaan negara Indonesia, industri hasil tembakau memiliki persaingan yang cukup kejam. Ketatnya persaingan usaha pada industri hasil tembakau memaksa perusahaan-perusahaan kecil untuk gulung tikar. Terhitung dari 4.669 perusahaan pada 2007 hanya tersisa 754 perusahaan pada 2017. Dalam 10 tahun terakhir, lebih dari 80 persen perusahaan di industri hasil tembakau gulung tikar. Perusahaan yang masih bertahan harus melakukan efisiensi untuk mengurangi biaya yang mungkin dapat dihilangkan. Salah satu cara melakukan efisiensi adalah dengan melakukan evaluasi tata letak. PT Taru Martani adalah salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak di industri hasil tembakau dengan produk andalannya adalah cerutu. PT Taru Martani juga menemui masalah bahwa kapitalisasi pasar mereka tidak lagi sebesar dulu. Perusahaan perlu melakukan efisiensi proses produksi untuk mengurangi biaya yang dapat timbul. Efisiensi proses produksi ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode line balancing. Dengan menggunakan metode ini maka peneliti menemukan angka yang seimbang bagi perusahaan dengan pendekatan heuristik. Dengan pendekatan tersebut maka ditemukan jumlah stasiun kerja minimum dengan efisiensi maksimum. Hasil perhitungannya adalah empat stasiun kerja dengan waktu siklus 40 detik. Dengan hasil tersebut tingkat waktu menganggur adalah 25,63% dan tingkat efisiensi adalah 74,38%.

Behind its contribution to the Indonesian's state revenue budget, the tobacco industry has a quite tight competition. This tight competition in the tobacco industry forces small companies to get out of the business. Starting from 4669 companies in 2007, it's only 754 companies left in 2017. In the past 10 years, more than 80 percent companies in tobacco industry went bankrupt. Companies that still survive must make efficiency to reduce its costs that might be eliminated. One of many ways to do efficiency is to do a layout evaluation. PT Taru Martani is one of the companies engaged in the tobacco industry with its flagship product is cigar. PT Taru Martani also encountered a problem that their market capitalization was no longer as large as it used to be. This company needs to make the efficiency of the production process to reduce costs that can arise. The efficiency of this production process is analyzed with line balancing method. By using this method, researcher found a balanced number for the company with a heuristic approach. With this approach, researcher is able to found the minimum work stations with maximum efficiency. The calculation results are 4 work stations with a cycle time of 40 seconds. With these results the idle time is 25,63% and the efficiency level is 74,38%.
