SIKLUS HIDUP PERUSAHAAN DAN STRUKTUR MODAL: STUDI EMPIRIS PADA PERUSAHAAN MANUFAKTUR DI BURSA EFEK INDONESIA PERIODE 2013-2017

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan panel data-fixed effect dan menggunakan sampel data 103 perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada rentang tahun 2013-2017. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji apakah pengaruh siklus hidup perusahaan terhadap struktur modal bersifat nonmonotonic yang bertanda positif, yaitu membentuk pola U-shaped untuk mencerminkan pola penggunaan hutang perusahaan yang sesuai dengan pecking order theory (Tian, Han, dan Zhang, 2015). Hasil penelitian ini secara statistik membuktikan bahwa siklus hidup yang terdiri atas growth stage dan mature stage yang diukur dengan pola arus kas (Dickinson, 2011) mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan. Selain itu, secara statistik dapat dibuktikan bahwa pengaruh siklus hidup perusahaan terhadap struktur modal bersifat nonmonotonic atau U-shaped pattern. Hasil pola yang terbentuk konsisten jika diuji secara statistik dengan model uji tahap siklus hidup perusahaan yang menggunakan variabel dummy untuk growth stage dan mature stage.

This study uses a panel data-fixed effect approach and uses a sample of 103 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the range of 2013-2017. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the influence of the company's life cycle on capital structure is nonmonotonic which is positively marked, namely forming a U-shaped pattern to reflect the pattern of corporate debt usage in accordance with pecking order theory (Tian, Han, and Zhang, 2015). The results of this study statistically prove that the life cycle consisting of growth stages and mature stages as measured by cash flow patterns (Dickinson, 2011) has a significant influence. In addition, it can be proven statistically that the influence of the company's life cycle on capital structure is nonmonotonic or U-shaped pattern. The results of the pattern formed are consistent if statistically tested with the test model of the company's life cycle stage using dummy variables for growth stage and mature stage.
