Representasi Guru dalam Rubrik Humaniora Harian Kompas: Analisis Wacana Kritis

Kompas merupakan salah satu surat kabar nasional ternama dengan jumlah oplah yang cukup besar di Indonesia. Melalui nama instansi media yang sudah banyak dikenal di tengah-tengah masyarakat, Kompas memiliki posisi penting dalam menyebarluaskan hingga mempengaruhi pandangan kepada publik. Salah satunya tulisan-tulisan dalam Kompas yang dimuat dalam rubrik Humaniora berkenaan dengan guru. Pandangan masyarakat dan tingkat kepercayaan yang diberikan kepada guru sebagai tenaga pendidik dapat dipengaruhi sebagaimana wacana yang dikonstruksi oleh media. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat representasi terhadap guru dalam wacana pemberitaan rubrik Humaniora harian Kompas. Analisis dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui 3 dimensi AWK Fairclough, yakni analisis tekstual, analisis praktik diskursif, dan analisis praktik sosiokultural. Pada tataran analisis tekstual, penelitian ini mengadopsi Systemic Functional Linguistic (SFL) Halliday sebagai teori bantu untuk menganalisis unsur-unsur linguistik yang membangun wacana HK. Analisis dalam penelitian ini fokus pada pemaparan HK terkait posisi dan peran guru dalam dunia pendidikan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru dalam wacana HK direpresentasikan dalam konstruksi wacana yang bermuatan negatif. Hal utama yang disentuh oleh HK adalah persoalan kualitas guru dalam dunia pendidikan yang belum mumpuni sebagai tenaga pendidik. Hal tersebut dipaparkan HK dengan merujuk pada beberapa peristiwa komunikatif, seperti tanggapan dari pihak pemerintah, dan beberapa orang pakar pendidikan, serta dengan mencntumkan beberapa fakta lapangan yang menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi guru di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Wacana HK juga mencerminkan ideologi tertentu, yakni adanya kritik HK terhadap kinerja guru dalam dunia pendidikan yang dianggap belum maksimal. Meskipun dalam praktik wacana HK memaparkan fakta lapangan secara berimbang dengan memaparkan bahwa program pemerintah yang menangani program peningkatan kualitas guru perlu diperbaiki, akan tetapi melalui konstruksi wacana, pemilihan sumber peristiwa komunikatif, dan struktur sosial yang mempengaruhi wacana, guru tetap berada pada posisi yang dimarginalkan.

Kompas is one of the leading national newspapers with a large number of circulation in Indonesia. Through the name of the media agency that has been widely known in the community, Kompas has an important position to disseminate and to influence the ideology to the public. One of the writings in the rubric Humaniora section regards the teacher. How media constructed the discourse about teachers can affect the level of public trust. Based on that explanation, this study aim to find out the representation of teachers in the discourse of the rubric Humaniora in Kompas daily. The analysis in this study was conducted through 3 dimensions of Fairclough's CDA, which were textual analysis, analysis of discursive practices, and analysis of sociocultural practices. At the level of textual analysis, this study adopted Systemic Functional Linguistic (SFL) Halliday as an auxiliary theory to analyze the linguistic elements that construct HK discourse. The analysis in this study focused on HK exposure related to the teacher's position and role in the world of education. The results of this study indicate that teachers in the HK discourse are represented in the construction of negatively charged discourses. The main thing highlighted by media in HK is the issue of teacher's quality in the world of education that has not yet been qualified as an educator. This was explained by HK by referring to several communicative events, such as responses from the government, and some education experts, and by presenting some facts that showed that teacher competence in Indonesia is still relatively low. HK discourse also reflects certain ideologies, the criticism of HK on the performance of teachers in education which is considered to be not optimal. Although in the level of discourse practice HK explained the facts of the field in a balanced manner by explaining that government programs that handle teacher quality improvement programs need to be improved, but through the construction of discourse, choosing communicative event sources, and social structures that influence discourse, teachers remain in a marginalized position.
