Sistem Informasi Pariwisata: Studi Perbandingan Pembangunan Situs Web dan Moderasi Forum Pariwisata Antara Lonelyplanet.com dan 4chan.org

Pariwisata merupakan industri potensial yang memiliki kebutuhan informasi tinggi dan beragam. Tidak seperti pencarian informasi mengenai produk konsumsi harian, proses pencarian dan pengumpulan informasi pariwisata harus dilakukan secara matang dan saksama karena tingginya resiko keamanan, biaya dan waktu yang dapat dihabiskan, dan hampir tidak ada trial and error. Situs Web dan Forum menjadi sistem informasi yang ideal untuk menjawab persoalan ini. Pertama, jangkauannya yang dapat diakses hampir separuh jumlah manusia yang ada di dunia saat ini memungkinkan terpenuhinya beragam kebutuhan informasi. Kedua, Informasi yang diproduksi oleh pengguna lain yang bebas dari kepentingan komersial dipandang tidak terlalu bias dan oleh karenanya lebih dapat dipercaya. Namun Situs web merupakan sistem informasi yang fleksibel, hampir tidak ada kaidah-kaidah tertentu yang harus dipatuhi, penyedia memiliki pendekatan dan cara pandangnya masing-masing dalam membangun situs web dan memoderasi forumnya. Peneliti ingin mengetahui bagaimana praktik pembangunan situs web dan moderasi forum pariwisata. Untuk itu peneliti memilih Lonelyplanet.com dan 4chan.org karena keduanya memiliki karakter yang saling bertolak belakang. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk membandingkan keduanya secara lebih komprehensif. Pada penelitian ini, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara mengobservasi Antarmuka Pengguna kedua situs web tersebut, karena pada dasarnya antarmuka pengguna merupakan komunikasi antara pengguna dan situs web untuk melakukan tugas-tugas yang dapat mencapai tujuan pengguna. Terdapat dua unit komparasi yaitu Pembangunan Situs Web dan Moderasi Forum. Variabel untuk menilai Pembangunan Situs Web adalah Struktur Informasi dan Navigasi Web. Sedangkan pada Moderasi Forum variabel yang diperbandingkan adalah Peraturan/Panduan Komunitas, Moderasi Konten, dan Moderasi Pengguna. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembangunan dan moderasi seperti Lonelyplanet.com tepat digunakan untuk situs web komunitas yang telah mapan dan memiliki lebih banyak pengguna. Sedangkan model pembangunan dan moderasi 4chan.org sangat tepat diterapkan untuk situs komunitas yang masih baru dirintis dengan anggaran biaya yang rendah dan ruang penyimpanan yang terbatas.

Tourism is a potential industry that has high and diverse information needs. Unlike the search for information about daily consumption products, the process of finding and gathering tourism information must be done carefully and thorough because of the high security risks, costs and time that can be spent, and almost no "trial and error." Websites and Forums are ideal information systems to answer this problem. First, its reach, which can be accessed by almost half the number of people in the world today, may fulfill various information needs. Second, information produced by other users who are free of commercial interests is seen as not too biased and therefore more reliable. But the Website is a flexible information system, there are almost no specific principles that must be obeyed, providers have their own approaches and perspectives in building websites and moderating their forums. The researcher wanted to know how the practice of website development and moderation of tourism forums. For this reason, researchers chose Lonelyplanet.com and 4chan.org because both of them have opposing characters. This study tries to compare the two more comprehensively. In this study data collection is done by observing the User Interface of the two websites, because basically the user interface is a communication between the user and a website to perform tasks that can reach the user's goal. There are two comparative units namely Website Development and Forum Moderation. Variables for assessing Website Development are Information Structure and Web Navigation. Whereas in the Moderation Forum the variables that are compared are Community Guidelines/Rules, Content Moderation, and User Moderation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the development and moderation models such as Lonelyplanet.com are appropriate for community websites that are "established" and have more users. While the development and moderation model 4chan.org is very appropriate to be applied to community sites that are still newly initiated with a low cost budget and limited storage space.
