ANALISA DAN SOLUSI JENIS CACAT DI AREA WATER JACKET CYLINDER HEAD K-97 PADA PENGECORAN LOW PRESSURE DIE CASTING

Divisi low pressure die casting (LPDC) merupakan bagian dari departemen die casting yang terdapat pada PT HUD yang memproduksi cylinder head K-97 untuk sepeda motor. Terdapat cacat yang terjadi pada produksi cylinder head K-97 khususnya pada bagian water jacket yang belum dapat teratasi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan analisa dan solusi untuk mengatasi cacat tersebut dengan tujuan meningkatkan efektivitas dan produktivitas. Proses yang dilakukan dimulai dari pengamatan alur produksi cylinder head K-97. Selanjutnya, dilakukan analisa terhadap faktor pendukung pembuatan komponen. Analisa dilakukan terhadap kematangan inti, dimensi ukuran kaki inti, dan ketebalan pelapisan terhadap cetakan. Pada faktor-faktor tersebut dilakukan pembuatan standar baru yang sesuai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyebab dari cacat tersebut adalah inti yang bergeser karena pelapisan cetakan yang terlalu tebal. Oleh karena itu, dibuat standar baru untuk pelapisan cetakan cylinder head K-97.

The division of low pressure die casting (LPDC) is part of the die casting department in PT HUD which produces cylinder head K-97 for motorcycle. There is a defect that occurs in the production of the cylinder head K-97, especially in the part of the water jacket that has not been overcome. Therefore, analysis and solutions are needed to overcome these defects with the aim of increasing effectiveness and productivity. The process carried out starts from observing the production line of the cylinder head K-97. Furthermore, the analysis of the factors supporting the manufacture of components. The analysis was carried out on the core maturity, dimensions of the core foot size, and the thickness of the coating on the mold. In these factors, made the appropriate new standards. The results showed that the cause of the defect was the core that shifted due to the overlaying of the mold. Therefore, a new standard is made for coating the cylinder head K-97.
