Sebuah Analisis Gender Dilihat Dari Komentar Mahasiswa Penonton Reality Show Korea The Return of Superman

The Return of Superman adalah Reality Show produksi televisi Korea Selatan dengan konsep seorang ayah yang ditugaskan untuk menjaga anak-anaknya dan melakukan berbagai pekerjaan domestik tanpa dibantu oleh istri dan pembantu selama 48 jam. Pada dasarnya acara ini bertujuan untuk mendekatkan ayah dengan anak-anak mereka, karena ayah dipandang sebagai sosok yang jarang berinteraksi dengan anak-anaknya karena sibuk bekerja. Namun disadari atau tidak, ternyata di dalam penayangannya The Return of Superman juga menampilkan beberapa isu gender yang divisualkan melalui pertukaran posisi domestik dan publik. Salah satu kelompok yang saya temukan cukup banyak menonton The Return of Superman adalah mahasiswa, sehingga penelitian ini dilakukan pada 6 orang mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam, saya berusaha menjawab pertanyaan bagaimana isu-isu gender divisualkan dalam Reality Show The Return of Superman dan bagaimana mahasiswa penonton Reality ShowThe Return of Superman memaknai hal tersebut (isu-isu gender)? Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa isu gender yang ada pada The Return of Superman divisualkan melalui masuknya laki-laki ke dalam ranah domestik seperti memasak, mencuci pakaian, berbelanja, dan menjaga anak. Selain itu, juga ditampilkan penggunaan warna baju merah muda, permaian boneka untuk anak laki-laki dan sifat penakut yang dimiliki oleh anak laki-laki. Sementara itu dari pemaknaan gender, terdapat perbedaan makna antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Mahasiswa laki-laki cenderung dapat menerima seluruh isu-isu gender yang ditampilkan. Dengan kata lain mahasiswa laki-laki termasuk dalam audiens dengan tipe dominan. Sedangkan mahasiswa perempuan cenderung menolak beberapa bagian atau juga menegosiasikan isu-isu gender yang ditampilkan. Dalam hal ini mahasiswa perempuan masuk ke dalam audiens dengan tipe oposisi dan negosiasi.

A Gender Analysis Viewed From Students Comments on Korean Reality Show The Return of Superman Abstract The Return of Superman is a Korean Reality Show which has a concept of a father having a duty to take care the children and do several domestic work without any help of a wife or even maid for 48 hours. This Reality show, basically, aims to embrace the relations between Father and his children, because Father often to be considered as someone who rarely having interaction due to their work. however, whether it is realized or not, The Return of Superman also showcasing some gender issue which is being visualized through exchange of position regarding domestic and public work. Most audience that I found to be the audience of The Return of Superman is Students. Thus, this research is carried out for 6 students; consist of Male and Female students. Through having deep interview, I try to find the answer of how gender issues are visualized in the Reality Show The Return of Superman, as well as how the Students as the audience of The Return of Superman assuming Gender? The result of Research showing there are several gender issues visualized through father do several domestic work like cooking, washing, shopping and a duty to take care the children. In addition, it also displayed the use of pink shirt color, doll play for boys and the anxiety nature issued by boys. Meanwhile, from Gender perspective, there are a difference of opinion between Man and Woman. Male students tend to be able to accept the whole concept of gender aspect. In other words, Male Students included as the audience for dominant type. In the other hand, Female students tend to refuse some part as well as try to negotiate some gender issues in the show. In this case, Female Students included as the audience of opposition and negotiation type.
