PERAN REGULASI EMOSI TERHADAP PENYESUAIAN SOSIAL REMAJA DI LINGKUNGAN SEKOLAH

INTISARI Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada peran dari regulasi emosi terhadap penyesuaian sosial remaja di lingkungan sekolah. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 112 mahasiswa yang sedang menempuh pendidikan di Sekolah Menengah Atas, pria dan wanita, dan berusia antara 15-18 tahun. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah skala penyesuaian sosial dan skala regulasi emosi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana dengan metode enter. Hasil analisis regresi variabel regulasi emosi dan penyesuaian sosial menghasilkan r sebesar 0,258 dengan p = 0,006 (p < 0,01). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada peran regulasi emosi terhadap penyesuaian sosial remaja di lingkungan sekolah. Hal ini dapat diartikan bahwa hipotesis penelitian ini dapat diterima. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai R2 sebesar 0,067. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa sumbangan efektif variabel regulasi emosi pada variabel penyesuaian sosial adalah sebesar 6,7%, sementara 93,3% sumbangan efektif dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain di luar variabel regulasi emosi. ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to find the role of the emotion regulation toward adolescents social adjustment at school. The study involved 112 high school students, male and female, aged 15-18 years old. Two instruments were used, social adjustment scale and emotion regulation scale. The data was analyzed with simple regression enter method. The result was r = 0,258 and p = 0,006 (p<0,01), indicated that there was a role of emotion regulation toward adolescents social adjustment at school. The hypothesis was accepted. The determination coefficient was R2 = 0,067, indicated that emotion regulation had 6,7% effective contribution to social adjustment of the subjects, while there were 93,3% effective contribution other factors affected the social adjustment of adolescence.
