Negara-negara ASEAN kini telah memberlakukan Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN (MEA) sejak tahun 2015. MEA adalah suatu bentuk kerjasama negara-negara ASEAN dalam pemerataan pertumbuhan ekonomi di tiap-tiap negara dengan mengirimkan tenaga ahli di suatu negara ke negara lain yang dianggap kurang. Hal ini akan mengancam ketersediaan lapangan pekerjaan dalam negeri apabila tenaga ahlinya tidak mampu bersaing secara global. Oleh karena itu, pemerintah Indonesia khususnya pemerintah Yogyakarta mulai menggencarkan pendampingan UMKM guna memantau kualitas dari kinerja para pekerja serta hasil produksinya. Namun, kurangnya kualitas hasil produksi juga disebabkan oleh kurangnya fasilitas yang memadai akibat kurangnya modal usaha. Selain itu, penjualan produk masih di pasar lokal saja. Seharusnya dengan kemajuan teknologi saat ini, pasar yang dituju sudah mencapai pasar internasional karena dengan berlakunya MEA maka perdagangan bebas terbuka sangat lebar. Oleh karena itu Studio Kreatif Desain dan Produk Berbasis IT ini dibangun untuk memberikan fasilitas-fasilitas yang dibutuhkan serta memberi pendidikan mengenai teknologi. Persaingan antar negara ini semakin ketat karena dipicu oleh perkembangan teknologi yang semakin meningkat. Tidak hanya di bidang ekonomi tetapi di segala bidang termasuk bidang arsitektur. Semakin suatu negara dapat menguasai teknologi lebih cepat, maka negara tersebut akan selangkah lebih maju dibandingkan negara lainnya. Agar tidak tertinggal, Indonesia khususnya Yogyakarta harus dapat mengikuti perkembangan era digitalisasi tersebut dengan baik. Arsitektur Kota Yogyakarta harus dapat berkembang. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan arsitektur parametrik dipilih karena dengan teknologinya mampu menghasilkan karya arsitektur yang lebih eksploratif. Bangunan ini akan menerapkan konsep air karena secara filosofi air mudah beradaptasi dan secara alami air dapat menyejukkan ruangan. Karena itu, akan banyak unsur air yang dimasukkan ke dalam desain. Dengan menggunakan arsitektur parametrik maka bentuk-bentuk transformasi dari air dapat lebih mudah direalisasikan.

ASEAN countries have validated and implemented the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) since 2015. AEC is a form of collaboration work between ASEAN countries, with its intentions on even distribution of economic growth in every country. Doing so by transferring experts of certain fields of a country onto another that are in need of help. This situation show threats to the less-skilled countries. By foreign experts taking over job vacancy of people, employment opportunities are decreasing, causing the workforce of the people to be weak in competing globally. This gave concern to governments of Indonesia. The government of Yogyakarta started taking actions by paying more attention in improving work performance, the quality and outcome of products. Although, a huge case on bad qualities of product is the budget, meaning there is bad facilitation. Another cause making countries not developing well enough is the closed-environment way thinking of business, having products only to be obtained at local markets. With developing technology of today's world, enterprises should move towards a more international route in order to achieve the market goal of the business. For that, "Studio Kreatif Desain dan Produk Berbasis IT", was created for intentions of educating enterprises with advancing technologies of today. Influenced by the forward-moving advancements of different technologies, competition levels of countries get higher as time goes. This does not only occur in the economic field, also happens a lot in all fields, including architecture. The quicker that a country understands a concept of the technology, the further it goes. This should imply to Indonesia, especially Yogyakarta. The country should always be up to date on recent technologies of this world, architecturally, in order to develop faster and better. Therefore, parametric architecture approach is chosen as the technology of it is capable of creating a more explorative architecture. The concept of water-use will be applied to the design of the building. Philosophically, the element of water itself could easily adapt and it could naturally freshen up the room. In this case, there will be lots of this concept applied to the design. By using the parametric architecture approach, transforming the water shapes would be more realistic.
