Intisari Upacara tradisional merupakan suatu aktivitas atau rangkaian tindakan terstruktur yang ditata oleh adat yang berlaku dimasyarakat biasanya berhubungan dengan berbagai macam peristiwa. Seperti halnya salah satu upacara tradisional yang ada yaitu upacara adat saparan. Dinamakan upacara adat saparan karena upacara ini diambil dari nama tokoh leluhur Dusun Pondok Wonolelo yang dipercaya sebagai cikal bakal berdirinya dusun tersebutdan telah menurunkan penduduk di dusun tersebut. Sampai saat ini masyarakat bersama - sama dibantu dengan pemerintah setempat melestarikan keberadaan upacara adat saparan ini. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk melihat gambaran mengenai sejarah dan munculnya upacara adat saparan Ki Ageng Wonolelo dalam hubungannya dengan sistem masyarakat setempat, untuk mengetahui pemaknaan masyarakat terhadap perayaan upacara adat saparan, serta untuk mengetahui peran modal sosial sebagai penjaga keberlanjutan perayaan upacara adat saparan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, dengan sumber data utama berupa kata - kata. Tehnik pengumpulan data dengan cara melakukan observasi langsung, wawancara secara mendalam, dokumentasi foto dan video beserta studi pustaka. Jumlah informan penelitian adalah sebanyak 6 orang yang terdiri dari masyarakat pondok wonolelo, panitia pacara adat saparan, serta pemerintah setempat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya lima makna perayaan saparan bagi masyarakat yaitu nguri � uri atau melestarikan tradisi peninggalan nenek moyang, sebagai perwujudan rasa syukur, memperingati dan menghormati jasa � jasa Ki Ageng Wonolelo, sebagai ajang silaturahmi, peingkatan ekonomi warga. Adanya pemaknaan ini memberikan kesimpulan bahwa ada tujuan bersama masyarakat dusun Pondok Wonolelo untuk mempertahankan keberlangsungan perayaan saparan. Modal sosial yang ada didalamnya turut menguatkan masyarakat dalam mencapai tujuan tersebut. Terdapat tiga bentuk modal sosial diantaranya rasa kepercayaan, jaringan sosial serta norma. Peran dari modal sosial diantaranya kepercayaan berperan mendukung terciptanya kerekatan sosial dan tindakan kerjasama yang kuat serta mengurangi resiko kecemasan yang dikhawatirkan terjadi. Peran dari jaringan sosial memperlancar hubungan kerjasama dan menggalang partisipasi. Peran dari norma mengontrol bentuk � bentuk perilaku yang ada di masyarakat. Mekanisme modal sosial pada perayaan upacara adat saparan adalah sebagai alat untuk mengorganisir diri dalam mencapai tujuan bersama yaitu kesuksesan perayaan. Selain itu modal sosial juga menjembatani dan mengikat.

Abstract Traditional ceremony is an activity or series of structured actions arranged by the prevailing custom in the community which is usually associated with a variety of events. Like one of the traditional ceremony there is a traditional ceremony named Saparan. It is called Saparan ceremony because the ceremony is taken from the name of the ancestor figure of Pondok Wonolelo Hamlet believed to be the forerunner to the establishment Pondok Wonolelo village and has reduced the population in the village. Until now the community together with the local government preserve the existence of this traditional ceremony Saparan. This research has a purpose to see how is the description of history and the emergence of traditional ceremony of Ki Ageng Wonolelo in relation to the local community system, to know the meaning of the society in celebrating the traditional ceremony of saparan, and to know the role of social capital as the guardian of the saparan ceremony. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method, with the main data source in the form of words. Technique data collection was taken by direct observation, in-depth interviews, photo documentation and video along with literature. The number of research informants are as much as 6 people consisting of the Pondok Wonolelo community, the customary ceremony committee of saparan, and the local government. There are five meaning Saparan celebration for the community that is nguri - uri or preserve ancestral tradition, as an embodiment of gratitude, remembrance and honor the service - Ki Ageng Wonolelo services, as a means of gathering, economic deficits improve residents. The existence of this meaning gives the conclusion that there is a common goal of Pondok Wonolelo village community to maintain the continuity of the celebration of the saparan. The social capital that exists in it helps strengthen the society in achieving that goal.There are three forms of social capital such as trust, social networks and norms. The role of social capital such as trust act to support the creation of social cohesion and a strong cooperative action and reduce the risk of anxiety feared happened. The role of social networks facilitates cooperative relations and raises participation. The role of the norms controls the existing forms of behavior in society. The mechanism of social capital in traditional ceremony Saparan is for a tool which for organizing theirselves to get succed of the ceremony. Other wise, social capital is bridging and bounding.
