The meaning of Vocaloid Song Hitobashira Alice: Riffaterre Semiotic Analysis

Penelitian ini membahas tentang makna lirik lagu Vocaloid karya pertama Yugami-P yang berjudul Hitobashira Alice. Lagu ini memiliki nuansa kelam karena lima karakter yang disebut sebagai Alice diceritakan mengalami akhir kisah yang tragis. Sebagaimana diketahui, pembuatan lagu ini didasarkan pada cerita Horor fiksi Alice Killing yang menceritakan sebuah pembunuhan berantai misterius di Jepang yang terjadi antara tahun 1999-2005. Untuk menganalisis lirik lagu Hitobashira Alice, digunakan teori Semiotik Riffatere. Berdasarkan teori ini, ada beberapa tahapan sistematis yang harus dilakukan untuk menganalisis data. Adapun tahapan tersebut antara lain, pembacaan heuristik dan hermeneutik; pencarian matriks, model, dan varian; serta pencarian hipogram atau hubungan intertekstual. Berdasarkan analisis yang telah dilakukan, penulis dapat menyimpulkan bahwa tema utama dalam lagu Hitobashira Alice adalah kekuasaan. Dalam hal ini kekuasaan yang dimaksud adalah pengakuan yang diinginkan oleh Alice ketiga yang terjebak dalam imajinasinya sendiri. Lagu ini diciptakan oleh Yugami-P yang menyukai cerita misteri, dan ditujukan untuk memenuhi selera masyarakat Jepang yang tinggi akan cerita horror dan misteri ketika lagu ini dirilis. Melalui lirik lagu Hitobashira Alice, sang pengarang lagu berusaha untuk memecahkan teka-teki danmenyampaikan bahwa pelaku pembunuhan berantai misterius dalam kasus Alice Killing, adalah Alice Kai Sakura yang mengidap penyakit halusinasi Alice in Wonderland Syndrome.

This study aims to discuss the meaning that of the song Hitobashira Alice by Yugami-P first work. This song attributes a gloomy nuance due to five characters who are all known as �Alice� that are told to experience a tragic end. As it is known, the making of the song is based on the fictional horror Alice Killing that tells a story of a mysterious serial murder in Japan that occurred in between 1999-2005 To analyze the lyrics Hitobashira Alice, the semiotic theory of Riffatere is applied. Based on this theory, there are four systematic stages to analyze the data. They are indirectness of expression, heuristic and hermeneutic reading, determining matrix, model and variant along with intertextuality and hypogram. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the main theme in Hitobashira Alice is associated with power. In this case, power in a form of a confession which is desired by the third Alice who is trapped in her own imagination. The song was written by Yugami-P who is fond of mystery story and it was intended to fulfil Japanese people's taste on horror and mystery story when the song was first released. Through the lyric Hitobashira Alice, the author OF the song tries to solve the riddle and convey his idea that third Alice or Kai Sakura suffers from a hallucination called Alice in Wonderland Syndrome and is revealed to be the perpetrator of the mysterious serial killing in the story of Alice Killing.
