Konsep Pernikahan Ideal dalam Mitos Danau Toba dan Tsuru Nyoubou: Kajian Strukturalisme Levi-Strauss

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai pandangan-pandangan yang ada dalam mitos Danau Toba dan Tsuru Nyoubou. Penulis mengkaji struktur luar dan struktur dalam mitos menggunakan metode strukturalisme Levi-Strauss. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui struktur-struktur dan konsep pernikahan ideal masyarakat pemilik mitos yang direpresentasikan melalui mitos Danau Toba dan Tsuru Nyoubou. Penelitian ini terbagi ke dalam lima bab. Bab I merupakan pendahuluan yang berisi latar belakang, rumusan masalah, tujuan penelitian, metode penelitian, dan sistematika penelitian. Bab II berisi teori mengenai strukturalisme Levi-Strauss. Bab III berisi data etnografis berupa pandangan-pandangan yang ada dalam masyarakat Batak Toba dan masyarakat Jepang. Bab IV berisi analisis mitos Danau Toba dan Tsuru Nyoubou dengan metode struktural. Bab V merupakan kesimpulan penelitian. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa mitos Danau Toba dan Tsuru Nyobo meliputi pandangan-pandangan mengenai stratifikasi sosial, hutang budi, dan melanggar janji adalah makna-makna nirsadar mitos tersebut. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa konsep pernikahan ideal dalam masyarakat Batak adalah pernikahan yang tidak melanggar aturan kultural dan dalam masyarakat Jepang adalah pernikahan dengan orang yang memiliki tingkat stratifikasi sosial yang sama.

This research discusses about cultural views from the myth of Danau Toba and Tsuru Nyoubou. The author analyse surface structure and deep structure of the myth by using the structuralism of Levi-Strausss method. This research aims to discover the structures and the ideal concept of marriage in the society that is represented in the myth of Danau Toba and Tsuru Nyoubou. This research is divided into 5 chapters. The first chapter is the introductory part which contains background of this research, research formulas, aim of this research, method of research, and systematic of the research. Second chapter comprehends theory of the structuralism of Levi-Strauss. Third chapter covers ethnography data regarding Batak Toba and Japanese society's point of view. Fourth chapter discusses about the research analysis of the myths of Danau Toba and Tsuru Nyoubou using structural methods. Fifth chapter delivers the conclusion of this research. The result from the completed research of the myth of Danau Toba and Tsuru Nyoubou covers the point of view regarding social stratification, debt of gratitude, and breaking promises are unconscious meaning from the myth. The result additionally shows the Batak society's concept of ideal marriage is the marriage which follows cultural rules and for Japanese society's is the marriage with people who have the same level of social stratification.
