Kemandirian Difabel dalam Film Hyeong : Kajian Sosiologi Sastra

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini membahas bentuk kemandirian difabel dalam film Hyeong. Difabel dalam film ini adalah tokoh utama bernama Go Du Yeong yang mengalami disabilitas perolehan, yaitu menjadi tuna netra seumur hidup. Film ini dipilih sebagai objek penelitian dengan tujuan untuk mengungkapkan kemandirian tokoh difabel Go Du Yeong, serta faktor-faktor yang mendorong terbentuknya kemandirian tersebut. Selain itu, film ini juga mengemukakan pesan berupa kritik sosial yang ditujukan kepada para difabel itu sendiri maupun kepada masyarakat luas. Analisis dilakukan dengan teori sosiologi sastra. Sosiologi dan sastra berbagi masalah yang sama, yaitu konteks berurusan dengan manusia dalam masyarakat. Penulis melakukan analisis kemandirian difabel dengan mengidentifikasi karakter, dialog antartokoh, reaksi tokoh utama terhadap disabilitas yang diperolehnya, serta bagaimana cara tokoh tersebut mengatasi disabilitasnya. Penulis juga mendeskripsikan bentuk eksploitasi dan diskriminasi yang dilakukan terhadap tokoh utama. Dari analisis tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bentuk-bentuk kemandirian difabel di Korea Selatan yang direpresentasikan oleh tokoh Go Du Yeong. Bentuk-bentuk kemandirian tersebut berupa kemandirian sosial, kemandirian ekonomi, dan kemandirian emosi. Selain itu, film ini juga menjadi kritik sosial yang coba disampaikan oleh penulis naskah Yoo Young Ah, bahwa difabel perlu mendapatkan hak-hak yang sama dalam kehidupan sosial, berupa penerimaan, empati, serta bantuan dalam semua bidang. ABSTRACT This study discusses about the form of disability independence in the movie Hyeong. The differently abled person in this movie is the main character named Go Du Yeong, who acquires his disability and become blind for the rest of his life. This movie was chosen as the study object to reveal forms of independence of the differently abled character, Go Du Yeong, and several factors that support it, as well as social critics to the differently abled people themselves and the society. Analysis was conducted using sociology of literature theory. Sociology and literature shares the same problem, in context of concerns to the people in society. The disability independence is analyzed through an identification of characters, dialogues, Go Du Yeong's reaction about his disability, and the decisions he makes to deal with it. The exploitation and discrimination that happened to Go Du Yeong are also described in this study. As the result of the analysis, it can be concluded that the form of disability independence in South Korea that is represented through Go Du Yeong means socially, financially, and emotionally independent. This movie also acts as a social critics that its sreenwriter, Yoo Young Ah, tried to convey, such as every right differently abled people should receive as part of society such as acceptance of their condition, emphaty, and help in any kind of life aspects.
