REALISME BASUKI RESOBOWO PADA SKETSA DI EROPA: LU-LU, GUA-GUA

INTISARI Kritik seni merupakan kajian yang dapat membantu memahami fokus tertentu pada suatu karya seni. Kritik seni mampu membantu mengetahui sikap seniman dan corak karya seni. Fokus pengerjaan kritik seni pada penelitian ini yaitu sketsa berjudul Di Eropa: Lu-Lu, Gua-Gua karya Basuki Resobowo. Sejauh pengamatan peneliti pada kegiatan pra-penelitian, karya ini merupakan satu-satunya karya yang menunjukkan persoalan pribadi, baik dari segi judul maupun perwujudan karyanya. Pengerjaan karya semacam ini belum pernah dilakukan Resobowo sepanjang karir berkeseniannya. Penelitian ini diawali dengan penjelasan tentang keikutsertaan Resobowo di dunia kesenian Indonesia maupun di Belanda. Hal ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui perjalanan pemahaman Resobowo terkait sikap realisnya dalam berkarya seni. Dilanjutkan dengan penjabaran kritik seni terhadap karya Di Eropa: Lu-Lu, Gua-Gua. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif analitis. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu studi pustaka dan wawancara tidak terstruktur. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu ketertarikan Resobowo terlibat dalam penyelesaian ketimpangan sosial yang ditemuinya sejak tinggal bersama keluarga paman hingga memutuskan hidup secara menggelandang. Hal ini menjadi kunci awal kesediaannya menerima Realisme yang mengedepankan persoalan sosial pada kerja seninya. Peneliti menemukan bahwa pada sketsa Di Eropa: Lu-Lu, Gua-Gua, Resobowo memunculkan sikap realis dan corak realistiknya baik secara gagasan maupun secara teknis menjadi seniman yaitu melalui realitas menjadi diri sendiri tanpa upaya menunjukkan kesempurnaan sebagai seniman. Dimana secara teknis dapat dilihat bahwa tidak ada satupun garis yang mengalami perbaikan. Karya ini semakin menegaskan sikap Resobowo yang masih meneguhkan prinsip Jiwo Kéthok yang dulu diajarkan S. Sudjojono kepadanya. Keterlibatan Resobowo dalam ragam peristiwa pada sejarah Indonesia, menjadikan pengkajian terhadap tokoh ini masih perlu dilakukan dengan meninjau dari persoalan yang berbeda sehingga dapat membantu jalinan pengetahuan tentang sejarah Indonesia dan seni rupa yang belum banyak terungkap. ABSTRACT An art critic is the study which helps to understand a particular focus in a certain work of art. It can be used to know the attitude of the artists and artworks. The main artwork of the art critics in this study is a sketch entitled In Europe: You is You, Me is Me by Basuki Resobowo. Based on the researcher's preliminary study, this work is the only work that shows personal issues including of its title and the embodiment of the work. Moreover, this kind of work process has never been done by Resobowo throughout his artistic career. This study is started by the explanation of his participation in the art world of Indonesia and in the Netherlands. It is intended to know the understanding of Resobowo's way regarding his realist attitude in art work. Then, it is followed by the elaboration of art criticism of the work In Europe: You is You, Me is Me. This is a qualitative study in the form of descriptive analytic. The data is collected through literature review and unstructured interview. The result of this study is the interest of Resobowo involved in the settlement of social inequality that he met since living with his uncle's family until he decided to live as a bum. This was the initial key to his willingness to accept the realism that puts social issues at work on his art. Furthermore, the researcher finds out that on the sketch of In Europe: You is You, Me is Me, he brought up his realistic sides both in ideas and technically to be an artist through the reality of being self without the effort to show perfection as an artist. It is technically can be seen that there was none of the lines have been improved. This work emphasizes Resobowo's attitude that still reinforces the principle of Jiwo Kéthok that was taught by S. Sudjojono to him. Through the involvement of Resobowo in various events in the history of Indonesia, the study of this artist is needed to be more conducted by reviewing from different issues. Therefore, it can give more useful contribution to the relation of knowledge about Indonesian history and art that has not been revealed.
