KARAKTERISTIK HETEROTOPIA DI MUSEUM SONOBUDOYO; KAJIAN TERHADAP PAMERAN TETAP TAHUN 2000 HINGGA 2017

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Museum Sonobudoyo, yang merupakan museum tertua yang ada di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Museum Sonobudoyo merupakan museum dengan sejarah panjang yang diprakarsai oleh organisasi Java Instituut. Keberadaannya sejak masa Kolonial Belanda tersebut menjadi bahasan menarik pada studi permuseuman terutama pada bidang perkembangan idealisme yang dibawakannya. Idealisme Museu Sonobudoyo yang ada sekarang dituangkan dalam visi museum yang kemudian disajikan dalam bentuk pameran utama museum. Konsep Heterotopia digunakan untuk meninjau Museum Sonobudoyo sebagai sebuah ruang yang unik. Heterotopia memandang museum sebagai suatu ruang yang dapat berhubungan dengan ruang lain namun sekaligus bertentangan dan berkebalikan. Kondisi tersebut ditentukan dari idealisme yang dimiliki oleh museum yang kemudian direpresentasikannya melalui pameran. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk melakukan evaluasi representasi pameran yang dilakukan oleh Museum Sonobudoyo berdasarkan sudut pandang konsep heterotopia. Metode untuk mencapai tujuan ini adalah dengan melakukan analisis konteks sejarah dan perkembangan idealisme museum, serta identifikasi idealisme Museum Sonobudoyo tahun 2000-2017, hingga penggambaran idealisme tersebut dalam pameran tetap. Melalui hasil analisis akan didapatkan jawaban dari permasalah penelitian mengenai karakteristik Museum Sonobudoyo sebagai heterotopia dan representasi idealisme yang dilakukannya. Berdasarkan hal itu lebih lanjut akan dilakukan evaluasi pameran dengan landasan idealisme museum untuk kemudian dirumuskan rekomendasi yang sesuai dengan hasil evaluasi.

This research was conducted at the Sonobudoyo Museum, which is the oldest museum in Yogyakarta Special Region. Sonobudoyo is a museum with a long history initiated by Java Instituut organization. Its existence since the Dutch Colonial period became an interesting discussion on the study of museums, especially in the development of the museum idealism. The idealism of Sonobudoyo Museum is now poured into the museum's vision which is then presented in the form of the museum's main exhibition. The concept of Heterotopia is used to review the Sonobudoyo Museum as a unique space. Heterotopia views the museum as a space that can relate to other spaces but is completely different from those spaces it relates to. The condition is determined from the museum idealism which then represented through the exhibition. This research was conducted with the aim to evaluate exhibition representation conducted by Sonobudoyo Museum based on the concept of heterotopia. The method to achieve this goal is to analyze the historical context and the development of the museum idealism, as well as the identification of the idealism of Sonobudoyo Museum from 2000-2017, to the representation of the idealism in a museum permanent exhibition. Through the results of the analysis, answers from research issues regarding the characteristics of the Sonobudoyo Museum as heterotopia and representations of idealism that the museum did will be obtained. Based on the research answers, exhibition evaluation will be conducted on the basis of museum idealism representation and in accordance with the evaluation results recommendations will be then formulated.
