SISTEM PENDIDIKAN JARAK JAUH MODEL E-LEARNING UNIVERSITAS TERBUKA DALAM PERSPEKTIF FILAFAT PENDIDIKAN PROGRESIVISME

Penelitian model e-learning dalam perspektif filsafat pendidikan progresivisme dilatarbelakangi oleh sistem pendidikan formal model baru sebagai salah satu konsekuensi dari perkembangan teknologi. E-learning hadir sebagai pendidikan virtual yang berbeda dengan sekolah konvensional. Pendidikan model e-learning menekankan prinsip flekibilitas dan fokus terhadap minat, potensi dan bakat yang dimiliki anak, sehingga kebutuhan anak secara alamiah dapat terpenuhi dengan baik. E-Learning menjadikan anak sebagai subjek pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman dengan jelas mengenai pemikiran filsafat pendidikan progresivisme, memaparkan dengan jelas mengenai konsep pendidikan model e-learning di Universitas Terbuka dan memperoleh gambaran mengenai unsur pendidikan model e-learning dalam perspektif filsafat pendidikan progresivisme. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif bidang filsafat. Bahan penelitian adalah pustaka-pustaka yang berkaitan degan objek material dan objek formal. Metode yang digunakan adalah hermeneutika filosofis, dengan unsur-unsur metodis sebagai berikut: analisis hasil bersifat deskriptif, interpretasi, holistik, refleksi. Filsafat pendidikan progresivisme sebagai perspektif dalam menganalisis pendidikan dalam model e-leaning di Universitas Terbuka. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijelaskan sebagai berikut, pertama: e-learning merupakan sebuah model pendidikan dimana terjadi keterpisahan antara murid dan guru dalam proses belajar mengajar sehingga murid ditekankan untuk lebih belajar secara mandiri. Kedua, filsafat pendidikan progresivisme adalah kepercayaan kepada kekuatan alamiah manusia, kekuatan yang diwariskan kepada manusia sejak lahir yang telah membawa bakat dan kemampuan atau potensi dasar, terutama daya akalnya, sehingga manusia akan dapat mengatasi segala problematika hidupnya. Ketiga: filsafat pendidikan progresivisme memandang unsur yang terdapat dalam pendidikan jarak jauh model e-learning Universitas Terbuka sebagai upaya penyediaan pendidikan alternatif bagi anak usia pendidikan tinggi yang terkendala untuk mengikuti pendidikan pada umumnya. Menyiapakan pendidikan yang memungkinkan berlangsunganya proses belajar secara demokratis dan fleksibel pada setiap mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan bakat dan minatnya. Namun realitas pendidikan model e-learning masih terdapat kendala kendala seperti kurangnya interaksi dalam sistem belajar mengajar yang menghambat menyampaian nilai-nilai kehidupan.

ABSTRACT The research of the e-learning model in the perspective of progressivism education philosophy is based on the new model of formal education system as one of the consequences of technological development. E-learning comes as an virtual education that is different from conventional education. E-learning education emphasizes the principle of flexibility and focus on the child's interests, potential and talents, so that the child's natural needs can be fulfilled. E-learning makes children as a subject of education. This study aims to explain clearly about e-learning education, and obtain a picture of the element of e-learning education in the perspective of progressivism education philosophy. This research is a qualitative research with philosophical perspective and method. The material of research is primary book about e-learning and progressivism education philosophy. The method used is a philosophical hermeneutic, with methodical elements as follow: analysis of the results is the descriptive, interpretation, holistic, and reflection. Philosophy of education, especially theory of progressivism used as perspective in analysis the education for e-learning in Terbuka University The research's result can be pointed out as follows, first: e-learning is an education model in which model of education where there is separation between students and teachers in teaching and learning process so that students are emphasized to learn more independently. Second, the philosophy of progressivism education is the belief in the natural forces of human, the inherited power of human from birth who has brought the talent and the ability or basic potential, especially the intellect, so that human beings will be able to overcome all the problems of life. Third: the philosophy of progressivism education views the elements contained in the distance education e-learning model of Universities Terbuka as an effort to provide alternative education for high education aged children who are constrained to follow education in general. Preparing for an education that enables a democratic and flexible learning process for every student to develop her talent and interests. But the reality of e-learning model education is still constrained obstacles such as lack of interaction in teaching and learning system that inhibits the delivery of life values.
