Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis unsur-unsur cerita pendek Syahru al-Asali karya Muhammad as-Sibai dan keterkaitan antar unsur-unsur tersebut. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori struktural Robert Stanton, sedangkan metode yang digunakan adalah metode struktural. Unsur-unsur intrinsik karya sastra menurut Robert Stanton adalah tema, fakta cerita (karakter, latar, plot), serta sarana-sarana sastra (judul, sudut pandang, gaya dan nada, ironi). Tokoh utama cerpen ini adalah Jean, gadis cantik dan kaya yang dikhianati oleh suaminya. Tokoh tambahannya adalah Lieberman dan Baral. Latar tempat cerita ini adalah stasiun Saint Lazara, di dalam otobus, kota Vaugirard, dan di rumah Baral. Latar waktu cerpen ini adalah pagi. Latar sosial cerpen ini adalah pengantin baru dengan status soial tinggi yang akan bulan madu ke Paris. Plot pada cerpen ini adalah plot progresif yang diawali dengan tahap penyituasian dan diakhiri dengan tahap penyelesaian. Tema cerpen ini adalah cinta yang tulus kepada seseorang sering dibalas dengan sebuah pengkianatan. Judul cerpen ini mengacu pada tema cerpen dan juga tokoh utama. Sudut pandang cerpen ini adalah orang-ketiga-mahatahu. Gaya bahasa pada cerpen ini adalah deskriptif dan memanjakan indra, sedangkan nadanya adalah romantis dan keras kepala. Ironi dalam cerpen ini adalah ironi dramatis, yaitu kenyataan yang tidak sejalan dengan apa yang Jean bayangkan sebelumnya. Semua unsur-unsur tersebut saling berkaitan satu sama lain sehingga menghasilkan makna yang utuh dan menyeluruh.

This research aims to analyze the intrinsic elements of short story Syahru al-Asali by Muhammad as-Sibai and interrelationship of these elements. The theory used in this research is the theory of structural by Robert Stanton, and the method used is structural methods. The intrinsic elements of literaly works according to Robert Stanton are the theme, the fact (character, setting, and plot), and literaly devices (title, points of view, style and tone, and irony). The main character in the short story Syahru al-Asali is story about Jean, a beautiful and rich woman who cheated by her husband, and its peripheral characters are Lieberman and Baral. The settings of place in this story are Saint Lazara station, in the bus, Vaugirard street, and Barals home. The settings of time in this story is the morning. And the social background in this story is the newlyweds with high social status who will be honeymoon to Paris. The plot of this story is progressive plot that begins by situasioning phase and ends by denouement phase. This story is about a sincere love for someone that is often get a betrayal as its requital. The title of this story refers to the theme and the main character. The points of view in used by the author is a third person perspective-not limited. Style of this story is descriptive and elaborately style, where as tone of this story is romantic and stubborn. Irony in this story is a dramatic irony, shown by the fact that isnt match with what was imagined by Jean. All of these elements relate each other so that made an intact meaning.
