Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran Lembaga Manajemen Kolektif dalam mewujudkan hak ekonomi bagi pencipta lagu dan/ atau musik dalam perspektif Undang-Undang Nomor 28 Tahun 2014. Penelitian ini membahas perbedaan kedudukan Lembaga Manajemen Kolektif pasca berlakunya Undang-Undang Nomor 28 Tahun 2014 tentang Hak Cipta dibandingkan dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 19 Tahun 2002 tentang Hak Cipta dan menjelaskan peran Lembaga Manajemen Kolektif melalui penarikan, penghimpunan, dan pendistribusian royalti dalam mewujudkan hak ekonomi bagi pencipta lagu dan/ atau musik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah yuridis normatif. Dengan pendekatan peraturan perundang- undangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Lembaga Manajemen Kolektif berperan dalam pendistribusian royalti bagi Pencipta lagu dan/ atau musik, hanya saja diperlukan infrastuktur hukum dan instrument pendukung sehingga pemanfaatan hak ekonomi dapat direalisasikan optimal baik bagi kepentingan Pencipta lagu dan/ atau musik.

The research aims to determine the role of Collective Management Organization towards the economic rights for the songwriter. This research discusses the difference between the status of the Collective Management Organization after the occurance of The Act Number 28 Year 2014 regarding to Copyright in the comparison to The Act Number 19 Year 2002 regarding to Copyright and explains the role of Collective Management Organization through the collection and distribution of royalties towards economic rights for songwriters. The method of research is normative juridical by statute approach. The result of the research shows that Collective Management OrganIzation plays a role in distributing royalties for songwriter and / or music towards the economic right. However it must be supported by legal Infrastructure and supporting instrument so that the utilization of economic rights can be gained optimally for the interest of the songwriter.
