Analisa Kerusakan Kebisingan (Noise) pada Mesin Diesel Caterpillar 3406C

Kerusakan alat berat sering terjadi di lapangan, salah satunya kerusakan pada bagian mesin diesel. Pada tanggal 3 Maret 2016, motor grader tipe 16H dengan nomor lambung G.111 milik PT. Kaltim Prima Coal mengalami masalah kebisingan pada mesin (engine noise) saat beroperasi di Pit Jupiter. Mesin diesel dengan serial number 1000-38-0343 telah mengalami kerusakan setelah beroperasi 3.591 jam dimana seharusnya life time target adalah 12.000 jam. Dari data ellipse (aplikasi milik PT. KPC), mesin diesel dipasang (fitment) pada tanggal 19 Mei 2015. Kerusakan pada mesin diesel dapat terjadi karena beberapa faktor, antara lain: mesin terlalu panas (overheating), umur mesin yang sudah mencapai batas dan keausan pada komponen mesin diesel. Pada analisa ini menggunakan metode pengamatan pada history maintenance mesin diesel, analisa pada pengambilan sampel oli, pengamatan pada potongan filter oli, identifikasi hasil temuan kerusakan komponen, melakukan pengukuran keausan pada roller lifter. Kesimpulan berdasarkan dari hasil analisa kerusakan mesin diesel 3406C pada motor grader CAT yang menjadi penyebab utama (root cause) adalah pin roller lifter tidak terkunci sehingga lifter mengalami keausan sehingga jarak antara push rod dengan bridge melebihi batas normal (over clearance). Beberapa komponen yang menyebabkan kebisingan (noise) pada mesin diesel 3406C ini ketika dijalankan (running) adalah exhaust pushrod dan bridge yang lepas. Machine damage often occurs in the field, one of the damages that occurred was a diesel engine. On march 3,2016, motor grader experienced noise problem on the engine while operating at Pit Jupiter. The diesel engine with serial number 1000-38-0343 has been damaged after operating 3.591 hours where the target life time should be 12.000 hours. From the data of ellipse (application fate PT. KPC), diesel engine was installed on May 19, 2015. Damage of the diesel engine can occur due to several factors, among others: overheating machine, engine age has reached the limit and wear and tear on diesel engine components In this analysis used the method of observation on the history of diesel engine maintenance, analysis on oil sampling, observation on oil pieces, identification of findings of component damage, measuring wear on the roller lifter. Conclusion based on the result of failure analysis which is the main cause is the pin roller lifter unlocked so that the lifter is wearing, so the distance between pushrod and bridge are over clearance. Some components that cause noise on diesel engine when running are exhaust pushrod and bridge that loose. Keywords: diesel engine, damage, noise, motor grader.
