Taman Kuliner Di Kawasan Ekowisata Kejawanan Cirebon

Sebagai kota pelabuhan kuno, pelaut-pelaut yang menambatkan jangkarnya di Cirebon membawa pengaruh yang kuat pada berbagai macam aspek, terutama kebudayaan. Datangnya pedagang asing tersebut mengakibatkan terjadinya alkuturasi budaya di Cirebon. Alkulturasi tersebut juga diperkuat oleh lokasinya yang tepat berada di perbatasan wilayah dengan karakteristik kebudayaan Sunda dan Jawa yang kuat. Tak ayal bila Cirebon merupakan kota dengan keberagaman budaya yang cukup tinggi di Pulau Jawa. Keberagaman budaya tersebut pada akhirnya menarik minat wisatawan untuk datang berwisata ke Cirebon. Meningkatnya jumlah wisatawan dari tahun ke tahun menunjukan tingkat antusiasme wisatawan akan kebudayaan Cirebon yang tinggi. Perhatian utama wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Cirebon tertuju kepada berbagai jenis kuliner khas yang terdapat di penjuru kota. Keberadaan kuliner lokal merupakan tujuan mayoritas wisatawan datang ke Cirebon. Gemerlapnya pertumbuhan sektor pariwisata Cirebon tidak dibarengi oleh pembenahan destinasi wisatanya. Banyak destinasi wisata yang potensial tapi belum dikembangkan oleh pemerintah. Pemerintah lebih berfokus mengembangkan situs budaya yang memiliki nilai historis seperti Keraton Kasepuhan dan Taman Air Gua Sunyaragi. Padahal terdapat destinasi potensial lain yang butuh untuk dikembangkan, salah satunya adalah Kawasan Kejawanan. Tingginya permintaan akan wisata kuliner serta Kawasan Kejawanan yang masih belum dikembangkan secara maksimal melahirkan ide untuk menciptakan taman kuliner sebagai sentral pengembangan wisata pada Kawasan Kejawanan. Potensi wisata seperti pelabuhan, hutan bakau, dan pantai yang terdapat di kawasan tersebut dipersatukan oleh keberadaan taman kuliner. Pendekatan ekologis dipilih karena kesadaran masyarakat akan pelestarian lingkungan sangat rendah dan hal tersebut terlihat jelas pada buruknya sanitasi di Kawasan Kejawanan. Dengan memadukan karakteristik kuliner dengan potensi Kawasan Kejawanan diharapkan dapat tercipta destinasi wisata yang kompak dan unggul serta mampu menjadi solusi dari pengembangan wisata Kota Cirebon.

As an old harbour city, sailors who docked their ship in Cirebon bring a strong influence on various aspects, especially culture. The arrival of foreign traders resulted in the occurrence of cultural acculturation in Cirebon. The acculturation is also strengthened by Cirebon location on the border of Sundanese and Javanese culture. Therefore, Cirebon is known as city with such high cultural diversity in Java Island. At the end, cultural diversity attract tourist to come travel to Cirebon. The increasing number of tourist from year to year shows the level of tourist enthusiasm for the high culture of Cirebon. The main attraction of Cirebon tourism is its traditional cuisine which located all over the city. The presence of local cuisine is the main goal of the majority of tourist to come to Cirebon. The high demand on the growth of Cirebon tourism sector not accompanied by improvements in tourist destinations. Cirebon has many potential tourist destinations but not yet developed by government. The government is more focused on developing cultural sites that have historical value such as Keraton Kasepuhan and Taman Air Gua Sunyaragi. Though there are other potential destinations that need to be developed, one of which is the Kejawanan Harbour Area. The high demand for culinary tourism and the Kejawanan Harbour Area that is still not developed maximally bring up idea to create a culinary park which also serves as the center tourist development of Kejawanan Harbour Area. Tourism potential such as harbour, mangrove forest, and beach will be united by the existence of the culinary park. The ecological approach was chosen because public awareness of environmental conservation was very low and it can be proven by the poor sanitation in the Kejawanan Harbour Area. By combining the characteristics of culinary with the potential of the Kejawanan Harbour Area is expected to create a compact and eminent tourist destinations and able to be a solution of tourism development of Cirebon City.
