Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengidentifikasi metafora-metafora dalam debat primetime Republik dan Demokrat. Metafora-metafora yang ditemukan diklasifikasi sesuai metafora konseptual oleh Lakoff and Johnson, yaitu struktural dan orientasional. The research intends to identify metaphors in the primetime Republican and Democratic debates. Metaphors found are classified in terms of structural and orientational according to Lakoff and Johnson’s conceptual metaphor. These metaphors are also analyzed in terms of cultural coherence. The data of the debates were taken from the transcript released on the Internet, particularly on the website of Time.
