FAKTA-FAKTA CERITA DAN TEMA DALAM NOVEL NADIRA KARYA LEILA S. CHUDORI: ANALISIS STRUKTUR NOVEL MODEL ROBERT STANTON

Salah satu bentuk karya sastra adalah novel. Novel merupakan bentuk prosa rekaan yang menampilkan tokoh-tokoh, latar, dan peristiwa. Objek material dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Nadira karya Leila S. Chudori. Objek formal dalam penelitian ini adalah teori struktur novel Robert Stanton. Penelitian ini akan menjawab tiga rumusan masalah. Pertama, menjawab fakta-fakta cerita yang meliputi tokoh dan penokohan, latar, dan alur dalam novel Nadira. Kedua, menjawab tema yang mendasari cerita dalam novel Nadira. Ketiga, menjawab hubungan antarunsur (fakta-fakta cerita dan tema) novel Nadira. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh-tokoh dalam Nadira dibedakan menjadi tokoh utama dan tokoh bawahan. Tokoh utama dalam novel ini adalah Nadira. Terdapat 35 tokoh bawahan, tetapi analisis terhadap tokoh bawahan hanya dilakukan kepada delapan tokoh bawahan yang meliputi Utara Bayu, Bramantyo Suwandi, Kemala Yunus, Nina Suwandi, Arya Suwandi, Gilang Sukma, Niko Yuliar, dan Bapak X. Kehadiran tokoh bawahan tersebut memperkuat karakter tokoh utama dan membuat ketegangan dalam cerita. Latar digunakan pengarang untuk menunjukkan dinamika peristiwa dalam novel Nadira. Dinamika peristiwa yang terjadi di antaranya adalah pertemuan antartokoh, penegasan karakter dan sikap yang diambil tokoh dalam menyelesaikan konflik. Tahapan alur dalam novel ini tidak disajikan secara urut. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengajak pembaca langsung masuk ke dalam masalah dan memikirkan konflik-konflik yang terjadi. Pergerakan alur dalam novel ini dipengaruhi oleh latar terjadinya peristiwa dan interaksi antartokoh. Dapat ditemukan tema novel Nadira adalah perjuangan kuat yang ditempuh seseorang menghadapi konflik batin akibat berbagai persoalan yang dialaminya untuk mendapatkan kehidupan bahagia. Dengan melakukan analisis struktural pada novel Nadira maka dapat ditemukan adanya unsur-unsur yang saling berhubungan membentuk kesatuan dalam cerita.

One of the variety of literary work is novel. Novel is a fiction prose that has characters, setting, and events. The material object in this research is a novel entitled Nadira by Leila S. Chudori. The formal object in this research is theory of novel’s structure by Robert Stanton. This research to aims to answer three research problems. First, to find out the facts of the story which comprised of plot, characters, and setting. Second, to find out the underlying themes of the story. Three, to find out the relationship between elements (facts of story and theme) in the novel Nadira. The results of this research showed the characters in Nadira is divied main characters and additional characters. The main characters in this novel is Nadira. There are 35 additional characters, but an analysis of the figures just do the eight additional characters which comprised of Utara Bayu, Bramantyo Suwandi, Kemala Yunus, Nina Suwandi, Arya Suwandi, Gilang Sukma, Niko Yuliar, and Bapak X. The presence of additional characters can strengthen the main characters and create suspense in the story. The author uses setting to show the dynamic of the events in the story of Nadira. The dynamic of the event showed a meeting point between characters, the characteristics and their attitude to overcome a conflict. Step plot in this novel is not presented in the order. It aims to engage the reader directly into the problems and conflicts that occur. The movement of plot in this novel is influenced by setting of event and interaction between caharacters. Nadira’s theme is intense power pursued by someone struggle facing the internal conflicts due to various problem her experienced to get a happiness. By using structural analysis on the Nadira, the research is able to find the elements which coherently in forming the unity of the story.
