PENOKOHAN, LATAR, DAN TEMA DALAM NOVEL LELAKI HARIMAU KARYA EKA KURNIAWAN: ANALISIS STRUKTUR NOVEL MODEL ROBERT STANTON

Objek material dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Lelaki Harimau karya Eka Kurniawan. Objek formal dalam penelitian ini adalah teori struktur novel Robert Stanton. Penelitian ini akan menjawab tiga rumusan masalah. Pertama, menjawab penokohan dan latar dalam novel Lelaki Harimau. Kedua, menjawab tema yang mendasari cerita dalam novel Lelaki Harimau. Ketiga, menjawab hubungan antarunsur (penokohan, latar, dan tema) novel Lelaki Harimau. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tokoh-tokoh dalam novel Lelaki Harimau dibedakan menjadi tokoh utama dan tokoh bawahan. Tokoh utama dalam novel Lelaki Harimau adalah Margio. Tokoh bawahan dalam novel ini adalah Komar bin Syueb, Anwar Sadat, Nuraeni, Mameh, Maharani, Laila, Maesa Dewi, Agung Yuda, Kasia, Mayor Sadrah, Kyai Jahro, Ma Rabiah, Ma Soma, Ma Muah, dan Marian. Kehadiran tokoh bawahan dapat memperkuat karakter tokoh utama. Tokoh bawahan juga dapat membuat ketegangan dalam cerita. Latar dalam novel Lelaki Harimau terbagi ke dalam latar tempat, waktu, sosial-budaya, dan atmosfer. Latar tempat dalam novel ini adalah rayon militer, warung Agus Sofyan, surau, pos ronda, pemakaman umum Budi Dharma, perkebunan, balai desa, rumah Margio, rumah Anwar Sadat, dan lapangan bola. Latar waktu dalam novel ini adalah latar waktu yang menunjuk pada waktu terjadinya setiap peristiwa. Latar sosial-budaya yang terlihat dalam novel ini adalah latar sosial masyarakat desa. Latar atmosfer yang dominan dalam novel ini adalah marah dan sedih. Tema novel ini dibedakan menjadi tema bawahan dan tema utama. Unsur-unsur faktual dalam novel ini berhubungan erat satu sama lain. Secara garis besar hubungan itu adalah hubungan tokoh dengan latar, hubungan tema dengan latar, dan hubungan tema dengan tokoh. The material object of this research is a novel entitled Lelaki Harimau by Eka Kurniawan. The formal object of this research is theory of novels structure by Robert Stanton. This research to aims to answer three research questions. First, to find out the characters and setting. Second, to find out the underlying themes of the story. Three, to find out the relationship between elements in the novel Lelaki Harimau. The results of this research showed characters in Lelaki Harimau is divided main characters and additional characters. The main characters in Lelaki Harimau is Margio. The additional characters in this novel are Komar bin Syueb, Anwar Sadat, Nuraeni, Mameh, Maharani, Laila, Maesa Dewi, Agung Yuda, Kasia, Mayor Sadrah, Kyai Jahro, Ma Rabiah, Ma Soma, Ma Muah, and Marian. The presence of additional characters can strengthen the main characters. The additional characters can also create suspense in the story. The setting in Lelaki Harimau divided into place, time, socio-cultural, and atmosphere. Setting of place in this novel is rayon militer, warung Agus Sofyan, surau, pos ronda, pemakaman umum Budi Dharma, perkebunan, balai desa, rumah Margio, rumah Anwar Sadat, and lapangan bola. Setting of time in this novel is the setting time refers to the time of each event. Setting of socio-cultural in this novel is the social setting of the village community. The dominant setting of atmosphere in this novel are angry and sad. The theme of this novel is divided into additional themes and the main theme. Factual elements in the novel closely related to each other, an outline of the relationship is the relationship of characters with setting, the relationship of theme with setting, and the relationship of theme with the characters.
