Cerpen "Segulung Cerita Tua" Karya Yanusa Nugroho: Analisis Posmodernisme Linda Hutcheon

INTISARI Cerpen "Segulung Cerita Tua" adalah salah satu karya Yanusa Nugroho yang semula diterbitkan di harian Kompas pada tanggal 1 November 1998. Cerpen ini kemudian dibukukan dalam kumpulan cerpen Segulung Cerita Tua oleh Penerbit Buku Kompas pada tahun 2002. Meskipun karya ini dibangun oleh cerita wayang yang dominan, cerpen "Segulung Cerita Tua" tetap memuat ide dan gagasan pengarang yang tampak melalui adanya pengembangan cerita wayang. Dengan demikian, cerpen "Segulung Cerita Tua" terbangun atas cerita wayang sebagai fakta mental dan fiksi. Dalam penelitian ini juga diasumsikan bahwa keberadaan cerita wayang di dalam cerpen "Segulung Cerita Tua" digunakan sebagai sarana pembangun gagasan kritis terhadap kondisi masa kini. Untuk membuktikan sejumlah asumsi tersebut, dipakailah teori posmodernisme Linda Hutcheon sebagai alat untuk mengupas cerpen"Segulung Cerita Tua". Pendekatan posmodernisme menurut Linda Hutcheon menganggap bahwa suatu karya yang khas posmodern dibangun oleh fakta dan fiksi. Keberadaan fakta itu tidak sekadar digunakan, tetapi juga disimpangi untuk menggambarkan kondisi masa kini. Dengan demikian, penggunaan fakta dalam fiksi posmodern tidak bersifat nostalgis ataupun ahistoris, tetapi bersifat kritis. Selain itu, narasi posmodern berusaha mengangkat pinggiran, yang meliputi baik kalangan kelas bawah maupun kelompok minoritas, untuk menggoyahkan pusat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cerpen "Segulung Cerita Tua" merupakan cerita parodi posmodernisme karena dibangun berdasarkan penggunaan dan penyimpangan cerita wayang. Munculnya penggunaan dan penyimpangan tersebut berfungsi sebagai pembangun cerita dalam karya, pendukung konflik, pendukung tema, dan sebagai bentuk alegori peristiwa dan tokoh ketika cerpen diterbitkan. Selain itu, melalui tokoh-tokoh yang terpinggirkan, gagasan pengarang disuarakan. Melalui peristiwa dan tokoh utama cerita, pengarang tampak mengkritisi kecenderungan pemerintahan yang militeristis, totaliter, dan tertutup. Gagasan kritis demikian terkait pemaknaan cerpen yang diinterpretasikan melalui kondisi sosial, budaya, dan politik pada masa kini, yaitu pada era Orde Baru.

ABSTRACT "Segulung Cerita Tua" short story is one of the works of Yanusa Nugroho originally published in Kompas on November 1, 1998 and then recorded in a short story collection, entitled Segulung Cerita Tua. This short story collection was published by Penerbit Buku Kompas in 2002. There are dominant wayang story in this work. Nevertheless, it is assumed that the "Segulung Cerita Tua" short story contains the ideas of the author are based on the wayang story. Therefore, "Segulung Cerita Tua" short story built by the wayang story as mental facts and fiction, and both are used as builders the overall story. In this research also assumed that the wayang story is used as a builder of critical ideas to criticize the present conditions. In order to prove those assumptions, the researcher applies Linda Hutecheon's postmodernism theory. In her postmodern approach, Linda Hutcheon considered that in a literary work, patterns typical of postmodern built by the facts and fiction. The existence of the fact is not just used, but also distorted intentionally to describe the present conditions.Therefore, the use of historical fact in postmodern fiction is not nostalgic or ahistorical, but critical. Furthermore, the postmodern narrative tried to lift the marginalized groups, which covers the lower classes and minority, to destabilize the center. The results of the research showed that the "Segulung Cerita Tua" short story is a kind of postmodernism parody since it was built based on the use and misuse of wayang story of Mahabarata. The function of the use and misuse is as builders story, supporting the conflict, supporting the theme, and as a form of allegory. Moreover, the author's idea voiced by characters who are marginalized. The author seem to criticize the tendency of militaristic, totalitarian, and closed governments through the events and the main character. This idea is related to the meaning of a short story which interpreted through social, cultural, and political conditions when that story was published, that is in Orde Baru era.
