UNSUR-UNSUR INTRINSIK CERPEN FATHIYYATU FI LUNDUN.. DALAM ANTOLOGI SAYYIDATUN FI KHIDMATIKA KARYA IHSAN ABD AL-QUDDUS: ANALISIS STRUKTURAL

Penelitian ini membahas unsur-unsur intrinsik cerpen Fathiyyatu fi Lundun.. dalam antologi Sayyidatun fi Khidmatika karya Ihsan Abd al-Quddus. Adapun teori yang digunakan adalah teori struktural dengan metode analisis struktural. Unsur-unsur intrinsik yang dibahas mencakup fakta cerita yang terdiri atas karakter, alur, dan latar, kemudian tema, serta sarana cerita yang terdiri atas judul dan sudut pandang. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini juga membahas keterkaitan antarunsur tersebut. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa tokoh utama dalam cerpen ini adalah Fathiyyah, perempuan pemilik bar yang dimanfaatkan oleh orang-orang Mesir di London untuk bertahan hidup pasca Perang Dunia II. Tokoh tambahannya adalah Si Aku, Hasan, Inayat, Abdul Karam, Mahir, Sayyid, Eliza, George, Kamal, para pelanggan dan gadis-gadis bar. Cerpen ini memiliki alur maju atau progresif. Latar tempat dalam cerpen ini adalah London yang meliputi jalan, hotel, klub Mesir, jalan Curzone dan Sheperd Market, bar, apartemen Fathiyah, serta motel. Latar waktunya adalah tahun 1941, 1946, dan 1948 serta waktu-waktu tertentu yang meliputi malam dan sore hari. Latar sosial dalam cerpen ini berupa kesenjangan sosial antara golongan atas dan golongan bawah pasca Perang Dunia II di London. Adapun tema cerpen ini adalah kegagalan dalam meraih sesuatu tidak lantas membuat seseorang menjadi terpuruk. Selain itu judul cerpen ini mengacu pada tokoh utama dan latar tempat. Sudut pandang yang digunakan adalah orang pertama-sampingan. Tema, tokoh utama, tokoh tambahan, alur, latar, dan judul dalam cerpen ini memiliki keterkaitan satu sama lain dalam membentuk makna.

The study discusses the intrinsic elements of the short story Fathiyyatu fi Lundun.. in the anthology Sayyidatun fi Khidmatika by Ihsan Abd al-Quddus. The theory used in this study is structural theory and structural analysis method. The intrinsic elements that are discussed consist of fact of the the story; characters and characterizations, plot, and setting, the theme, and the literary devices which consists of tittle and point of view. This study also analyzes the relations among those elements. The study concludes that the main character in the short story is Fathiyyah, the woman owner of a bar used by the Egyptians in London to survive the post-World War II. The figures are I, Hasan, Inayat, Abdul Karim, Mahir, Sayyid, Eliza, George, Kamal, customers and bar girls. The plot in this story is progressive plot. Setting of place is London, in street, hotel, Egyptian club, Curzone street and Sheperd Market, bar, Fathiyah apartment, and motel. The timing was in 1941, 1946, 1948 and at night and evening. The social setting is the social gap between the upper class and the lower class after World War II in London. The theme of this short story is failure to achieve something does not necessarily make a person worse. The title refers to the main character and setting of place. The point of view in this story is the first person-peripheral. The theme, the main character, other characters, plot, setting, and title in this story have a relationship with each other so that together they are shaping the meaning.
