KONSEP PERKAWINAN JAWA DALAM NOVEL REMUK KARYA DRS. SOETARNO

Roman atau novel penglipur wuyung 'penghibur kesedihan' merupakan sebuah karya sastra Jawa yang terburamkan dari sejarah sastra Jawa karena dirasa lepas dari aturan kesusastraan Jawa. Terlepas dari itu semua di masa-masa kehadirannya, roman atau novel panglipur wuyung 'penghibur kesedihan' sempat menjadi istimewa oleh para penikmatnya. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini mencoba membedah makna dari salah satu hasil karya sastra roman atau novel panglipur wuyung 'penghibur kesedihan' yang berjudul Remuk karya Drs. Soetarno, di dalam penelitian ini disebut novel Remuk. Penelitian terhadap novel Remuk guna membedah makna-makna yang terkandung di dalamnya, penelitian ini menggunakan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Pada tahap awal analisis, teks novel Remuk dibagi menjadi potonganpotongan kecil atau yang disebut leksia. Dalam pembagian tersebut ditemukan 47 leksia yang kemudian dipusatkan pada 17 leksia yang digunakan sebagai dasar analisis. Leksia-leksia tersebut kemudian dianalisis makna-makna yang terkandung di dalamnya dengan menggunakan sistem lima kode Roland Barthes, yaitu kode hermeneutik, kode aksi, kode semik, kode simbolik, dan kode budaya. Analisis makna tersebut dijadikan dasar analisis lanjutan mengenai konsep perkawinan Jawa yang termuat dalam teks novel Remuk. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah adanya konsep perkawinan Jawa dalam teks novel Remuk yang terdiri atas penentuan dan pemilihan jodoh serta penentuan hari perkawinan, sehingga dapat diketahui benang merah permasalahan dari cerita tersebut. Secara tidak langsung, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa karya sastra roman atau novel panglipur wuyung 'penghibur kesedihan' memiliki makna yang dapat dipelajari bagi pembaca.

Romance or novel panglipur wuyung is a Javanese literature which is blurred by the Javanese literature history because it might be separated from the rules of Javanese literary. In spite of all the times of the presence, romance or novel panglipur wuyung had to be special for the audience. Therefore, this research attempts to investigate the meaning of a literary work of romance or novel panglipur wuyung entitled Remuk by Drs. Soetarno, in the research called novel Remuk. The research on novel Remuk aims to dissect the meanings contained in it using semiotic analysis of Roland Barthes. In the initial stage of analysis, the novel text of Remuk is divided into small pieces or called lexia. There can be found 47 lexia from the division which then focused on 17 lexia used as the basis for the analysis. The meanings of the lexias are then analyzed using five codes system by Roland Barthes that is hermeneutic code, proarietic code, semic code, symbolic code, and cultural code. The analyzed meaning is used as the base advanced analysis form of the Javanese marriage concept contained in novel Remuk. The result of this research is that the Javanese marriage concept in the text novel Remuk consists of the selection of a mate and determination of the wedding day. So, it can be a common thread of the story problems. Indirectly, these research shows that romance or novel panglipur wuyung literature has a meaning that can be learned for the reader.
