ANALISIS DAMPAK KEBIJAKAN UPAH MINIMUM TERHADAP PEKERJA FORMAL DI INDONESIA, 2011-2014

Penelitian ini mencoba mengkaji pengaruh kebijakan upah minimum terhadap pekerja formal di 33 provinsi Indonesia periode 2011-2014. Kebijakan upah minimum dianggap mampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan pekerja namun hanya berlaku pada pekerja formal, sedangkan pasar tenaga kerja Indonesia didominasi oleh pekerja informal. Kebijakan upah minimum berdampak pada penurunan pekerja formal dimana tingkat upah minimum di Indonesia setiap tahunnya terus meningkat. Hasil regresi data panel dengan metoda fixed effect menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan upah minimum regional berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penurunan jumlah pekerja formal.

This research study the effect of minimum wage policy on formal worker in Indonesia using panel data 33 province in 2011-2014. Minimum wage policy is aim to increase worker's welfare but it only applies to formal workers while Indonesia's labor market is dominated by informal workers. Furthermore, minimum wage policy may impact on reducing formal workers where in Indonesia the level of minimum wage annually increase. By using fixed effect method, the results of this study provide information that the increasing of minimum wage lead to a decline in formal employment, statistically significant.
