Perkembangan teknologi sudah menjamur di seluruh dunia. Tidak hanya dari segi teknologi itu sendiri, namun bidang-bidang lain juga sudah menggunakan teknologi untuk mempermudah pengerjaan dan memakaiannya. Di bidang pendidikan, buku merupakan salah satu peran penting dalam proses pembelajaran dan merupakan sebuah media pembelajaran. Pada era globalisasi seperti sekarang ini, buku telah berubah bentuk elektronik atau e-book. E-book adalah versi elektronik atau digital dari buku fisik yang telah dicetak. Media membacanya menggunakan alat elektronik seperti gadget. Beberapa penerbit sudah mulai berinisiasi untuk menjajaki e-book. Penerbit Buku Pintar yang berlokasi di Yogyakarta merupakan salah satu dari penerbit di Indonesia yang ingin mengembangkan e-book. Dilihat dari segala aspek, pengembangan e-book terasa memiliki banyak manfaat bagi penerbit dan pembaca. Oleh sebab itu, Penerbit Buku Pintar mengambil langkah untuk mengembangkan e-book karena pasar e-book di Indonesia sedang dalam tahap perkembangan dan Penerbit Buku Pintar ingin menjadi satu yang siap untuk mengembangkannya.

The development of technology have mushroomed all over the world. Not only in terms of the technology itself, but other fields has also been using technology to facilitate the works and the user. In education sector, the book is one of the important roles in the learning process and is a medium of learning. In this globalization era, the book has changed into an electronic form or e-book. E-books are electronic or digital versions of physical books that have been printed. The reading media uses electronic tools such as gadget. Some publishers have started to initiate to explore e-book. Buku Pintar Publisher, located in Yogyakarta is one of the publishers in Indonesia who want to develop e-books. Judging from all aspects, the development of e-books feels has many benefits for the publishers and the readers. Therefore, Buku Pintar Publisher is taking steps to develop the e-book because of the e-book market in Indonesia is under development and Buku Pintar Publisher wants to be one that is ready to develop it.
