Ketatnya persaingan di industri perikanan memicu perusahaan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi di berbagai aspek produksi. Salah satu upaya dalam rangka meningkatkan efisiensi tersebut ialah dengan perbaikan tata letak fasilitas. PT Sheraton merupakan industri perikanan yang bergerak di bidang pembekuan ikan yang terletak di Kota Cirebon. Untuk mengetahui tingkat efisiensi selama proses produksi di PT Sheraton, perlu dilakukan evaluasi terhadap kondisi tata letak fasilitas produksi yang ada pada saat ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi tata letak fasilitas produksi di PT Sheraton dan merancang ulang tata letak fasilitas produksi yang dapat meminimalkan material flow dan ongkos penanganan bahan/ongkos material handling (OMH). Perancangan ulang tata letak fasilitas dilakukan pada seluruh fasilitas stasiun kerja departemen produksi dengan menggunakan bantuan unequal analysis facility layout problems (UA-FLP). Berdasarkan hasil analisis UA-FLP dihasilkan sebuah layout usulan yang memiliki material flow yang lebih kecil yaitu sebesar 165,51 meter atau dapat meningkatkan efisiensi sebesar 28% dibandingkan material flow pada layout awal (229,83 meter). Begitu juga dengan OMH yang dapat meningkatkan efisiensi sebesar 39% dari total OMH pada layout awal sebesar Rp7.918.473,20 turun menjadi Rp4.789.239,17 pada layout usulan.

Intense competiion in fisheries industry triggered the company to improve efficiency in some aspects of production. One of the effort to increase the efficiency is the improvement of layout facility. PT Sheraton is a fisheries industry which is engaged in the freezing fish and located in Cirebon. Evaluate the layout condition of the current production facilities at the company is important to determine the level of efficiency during the process in PT Sheraton. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the layout condition of the current production facilities in PT Sheraton and redesign the layout facilities which is able to minimize the material flow and material handling cost. The redesign which is applied to all production department facilities is using unequal analysis facility layout problem's (UA-FLP) algorithm. Based on the results of the UA-FLP analysis, it produced the layout proposal which has a smaller flow of material in the amount of 165.51 meters or it can save 28% compared to the material flow at the initial layout (229.83 meters). As well as the material handling cost which has decreased or saving of 39% of the total initial layout material handling cost at Rp7,918,473.20 to Rp4,789,239.17 in the layout proposal.
