NOVEL TETRALOGI TWILIGHT KARYA STEPHENIE MEYER: MEMBACA REALITAS SUBJEKTIF SEBAGAI SITUASI MARJINAL KONSTRUKSI VAMPIR

Novel tetralogi Twilight merupakan novel karya Stephenie Meyer yang mengisahkan cinta segitiga antara vampir, manusia, dan manusia serigala. Penggambaran tokoh vampir yang berbeda dengan vampir pada pengetahuan umum masyarakat menjadi titik krusial yang harus dilihat. Hal ini tentu menjadi sebuah upaya yang dilakukan pengarang secara subjektif untuk melibatkan pengetahuan umum dalam pergeseran nilai vampir. Berger menjelaskan bahwa realitas adalah hal yang konstruktif, hadir melalui interaksi antara kesadaran subjektif dan pengetahuan umum, realitas subjektif dan objektif, yang mana perbedaannya juga dapat hadir dari situasi marjinal atau yang tereksklusi dari realitas objektif. Dengan kata lain, apa yang dilakukan Meyer melalui vampir subjektifnya mengindikasikan permasalahan yang signifikan dengan apa yang diproposisikan oleh Berger, sehingga permasalahannya adalah; (1) apa realitas subjektif yang terimplikasikan dari konstruksi vampir dalam novel tetralogi Twilight? (2) mengapa realitas subjektif terkait konstruksi vampir dalam novel tetralogi Twilight berbeda dengan realitas objektif dalam pengetahuan umum? Dengan begitu, untuk menjembatani permasalahan tersebut, maka metode penelitian ini dimuarakan pada analisis novel secara tekstual dan objektif untuk mendeteksi realitas objektif mengenai vampir. Hasil analisis secara tekstual tersebut kemudian dipertentangkan dengan hasil analisis yang melibatkan subjektifitas pengarang yang berupa kesadaran subjektif dalam situasi marjinal melalui novel yang menghasilkan konstruksi sosial yang baru mengenai vampir. Hasil yang didapat dari analisis tersebut adalah menjelaskan bahwa novel sudah merupakan eksternalisasi, sementara itu interaksi menjelaskan adanya rekonstruksi yang akan dihasilkan mengingat realitas subjektif yang kehadirannya dipengaruhi oleh situasi marjinal yang beropoisisi dengan realitas objektif. Dalam konteks ini, vampir subjektif Meyer menjadi poros utama mengenai rekonstruksinya melalui novel ini, terlebih penggambaran vampir yang lebih humanis dan borjuis menjelaskan perbedaan antara vampir secara umum dan vampir secara subjektif.

Stephenie Meyers Twilight tetralogy tells a love triangle among a vampire, a human, and a werewolf. The depiction of characters with different vampire against vampires on social knowledge becomes a crucial point that should be seen. This would be an exertion made by the author subjectively to engage the general knowledge in the shift value of the vampire. Berger explains that reality is constructive, it presents through the interaction between subjective consciousness and general knowledge, subjective and objective reality, where the difference may also can affect the marginal situation or excluded from objective reality. In other words, what Meyer does through her subjective vampire indicates significant problems with what proposed by Berger, thus the problems are; (1) what is the subjective reality implied from vampire construction in Meyers Twilight tetralogy? (2) why is the subjective reality construction related to vampire in Twilight tetralogy novel different from objective reality in general knowledge? In this way, to bridge the problem, the research method is focused on the analysis of textual novel and objective to detect objective reality of the vampire. Textual analysis results are then contrasted with the results of the analysis involves subjectivity author in the form of subjective consciousness in marginal situations through the novel that generates new social construction of the vampire. The results obtained from the analysis are obvious that the novel has become an externalization, while the interaction explains the reconstruction that will be generated in view of the subjective reality that is influenced by the presence positions as marginal situation with objective reality. In this context, Meyers subjective vampire becomes the main axis of the reconstruction through this novel, especially with the depiction of vampires in humanist and bourgeois style explaining the difference between vampires in general or objective knowledge and vampires in this writer’s subjective knowledge.
