Horor dalam Novel "KKN di Desa Penari" karya Simpleman: Analisis Latar

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan sekaligus menganalisis latar sebagai pendukung kehororan cerita. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang mengacu pada identifikasi dan klasifikasi data. Data penelitian diperoleh di dalam novel KKN di Desa Penari. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) latar dalam cerita fiksi horor tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pendukung alur atau unsur instrinsik lain dalam cerita, namun juga berfungsi sebagai pendukung kehororan cerita. (2) Latar berbentuk tradisi masyarakat dapat mendukung kehororan cerita. Simpleman menggambarkan latar horor yang mirip dengan tradisi masyarakat Jawa yang dianggap sakral. (3) Tempat atau latar yang dianggap sakral memiliki kaitan dengan objek supranatural. Objek tersebut akan memunculkan tokoh dan suasana horor dalam cerita. Lalu, Simpleman menuliskan novel KKN di Desa Penari dengan elemen-elemen horor yang berupa latar menjadi kesatuan konstruksi horor.

This study aims to describe the setting as well as make it support the horror in the story. This study uses a qualitative method that refers to the identification and classification of data. The research data was obtained in the KKN novel in Penari Village. The results of this study are (1) the function of setting in a horror fiction story does not only support the plot or other intrinsic elements in the story, but also as a supporter of the horror of the story. (2) The setting in the form of community traditions can support the horror of the story. Simpleman describes a horror background that is similar to the Javanese tradition which is considered sacred. (3) Places or settings that are considered sacred have a connection with supernatural objects. The object will bring up the characters and the atmosphere of horror in the story. Simpleman wrote the novel KKN in Desa Penari with elements of horror in the form of a background that became a horror construction unit.
