HASRAT DALAM PENCAPAIAN STATUS SOSIAL PADA NOVEL L'ADVERSAIRE KARYA EMMANUEL CARRERE

L'adversaire karya Emmanuel Carrere merupakan novel yang bercerita tentang kehidupan nyata Jean Claude Romand, seorang dokter gadungan sekaligus pelaku pembunuhan yang berasal dari Prancis. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan teori hasrat dari psikoanalisis Lacanian untuk menganalisis subjek dr. Romand (dokter gadungan) sebagai manifestasi hasrat dari Jean Claude Romand. Konsep hasrat dalam teori Lacan diambil dari konsep Freud tentang kebutuhan (besoin) - permintaan (demande) - keinginan (desir) yang didekonstruksi ke dalam bentuk riil (reel) - imajiner (imajinaire) - simbolik (symbolique). Pada tahapan simbolik, hasrat tumbuh setelah subjek mengalami kekurangan dan kehilangan. Analisis perilaku dr. Romand sebagai manifestasi hasrat dilakukan melalui mekanisme metafora dan metonimia dengan menganalisis penanda-penanda yang ada dalam novel. Hasrat-hasrat yang tersembunyi dalam penanda tersebut kemudian diidentifikasi ke dalam hasrat menjadi (manque a etre) dan hasrat memiliki (manque a avoir). Berdasarkan keseluruhan analisis yang dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dr. Romand adalah metafora dari kehidupan nyata Jean Claude Romand. Sementara itu, penulis menemukan bahwa hasrat menjadi dr. Romand adalah sebuah perjalanan dalam menemukan kesempurnaan yang diinginkan. Sedangkan hal tersebut merupakan metafora dari kebebasan yang sejatinya diinginkan Romand. Kebebasan dari belenggu kecemasan akibat kebohongan yang terus menerus ia lakukan.

Emmanuel Carrere's L'adversaire is a novel that tells the real life story of Jean Claude Romand, a fake doctor and murderer from France. In this research, the researcher uses the theory of desire from Lacanian psychoanalysis to analyze the subject of dr. Romand (a fake doctor) as a manifestation of the desire of Jean Claude Romand. The concept of desire in Lacan's theory is taken from Freud's concept of need (besoin) - demand (demande) - desire (desir) which is deconstructed into real (reel) - imaginary (imaginaire) - symbolic (symbolique). At the symbolic stage, desire grows after the subject's experiences of lack and loss. Behavior analysis of dr. Romand as a manifestation of desire is carried out through metaphorical and metonymy mechanisms by analyzing the markers in the novel. The desires hidden in these markers are identified as the desire to become (manque a etre) and desire to possess (manque a avoir). Based on the overall analysis, it can be concluded that dr. Romand is a metaphor from the real life of Jean Claude Romand. Concurrently, researcher found that the desire to become dr. Romand is a journey in finding the desired perfection. But it was a metaphor for the freedom Romand so desperately wanted. Freedom from the shackles of anxiety due to the lies he keeps on telling.
