BUSINESS PORTFOLIO RESTRUCTURING AT PT DUTA INDO LESTARI

Perkembangan industri konstruksi di Indonesia saat ini berjalan sangat masif. Iklim usaha konstruksi yang dinamis, serta kompetisi di pasar yang tinggi, mendorong perusahaan untuk terus tumbuh dan mempertahankan eksistensinya di pasar. Perusahaan akan mengembangkan produk dan bisnis tertentu dengan masuk kedalam satu industri yang terkait atau pun tidak terkait dengan bisnis inti, salah satunya melalui strategi diversifikasi. Namun, strategi tersebut justru menghancurkan nilai yang sudah ada, akibat dari overdiversification. PT Duta Indo Lestari merupakan perusahaan swasta yang mengembangkan bisnis di bidang konstruksi dan pengolahan beton yang berlokasi di Pontianak, Kalimantan Barat. Dilihat dari kontribusi pendapatan dan kinerja dari setiap divisi usaha, PT Duta Indo Lestari membutuhkan strategi alternatif berupa restrukturisasi untuk mengoptimalkan kinerja divisi usaha. Penelitian ini menggunakan metoda deskriptif kualitatif, dan sedikit tambahan kuantitatif untuk menghitung skor daya tarik industri dan kekuatan kompetitif unit bisnis. Penelitian ini melibatkan kompetitor di industri yang sama dan pihak manajemen dari PT Duta Indo Lestari. Dengan tujuan memberikan hasil yang mendalam terkait analisis daya tarik industri dan kekuatan kompetitif unit bisnis di PT Duta Indo Lestari. Selanjutnya, merumuskan strategi alternatif berupa restrukturisasi portofolio bisnis yang dapat dilakukan oleh PT Duta Indo Lestari, berdasarkan pada analisis nine cell matrix dan gaya pengasuhan perusahaan. Dari analisis data yang dilakukan, diketahui bahwa restrukturisasi portofolio bisnis yang tepat bagi PT Duta Indo Lestari adalah mendirikan anak perusahaan baru untuk membantu mengelola divisi bisnis beton, namun tetap berpegang teguh pada lini bisnis yang ada dan mengejar peluang yang ada di bisnis tersebut. Diharapkan alternatif strategi ini dapat membantu meningkatkan kinerja dari masing-masing divisi usaha dan mewujudkan operasi bisnis yang lebih efisien.

The development of the construction industry in Indonesia is currently running very massively. The dynamic construction business climate, as well as high competition in the market, encourages the company to continue to grow and maintain its presence in the market. The company will develop certain products and businesses by entering into an industry that is related or not related to the core business, one of which is through a diversification strategy. However, this strategy often destroys existing value, as a result of over-diversification. PT Duta Indo Lestari is a private company that develops business in the construction and processing of concrete, located in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Judging from the revenue contribution and performance of each business division, PT Duta Indo Lestari needs an alternative strategy in the form of restructuring to optimize the performance of the business division. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, and a little additional quantitative to calculate the score of industry attractiveness and competitive strength of business units. This research involved competitors in the same industry and the management of PT Duta Indo Lestari. To Provide in-depth results related to an analysis of industry attractiveness and the competitive strength of the business units at PT Duta Indo Lestari. Next, formulate an alternative strategy in the form of business portfolio restructuring that can be carried out by PT Duta Indo Lestari, based on a nine-cell matrix analysis and the company's parenting style. From the data analysis carried out, it is known that the right business portfolio restructuring for PT Duta Indo Lestari is to establish a new subsidiary to help manage the concrete business division, but still, stick to the existing business lines and pursue the opportunities that exist in the business. It is hoped that this alternative strategy can help improve the performance of each business division and realize more efficient business operations.
