Kekuatan Latar Tiga Cerpen Dalam Antologi Penembak Misterius Karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma

Penelitian ini berjudul "Kekuatan Latar Tiga Cerpen Dalam Antologi Penembak Misterius Karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma". Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis unsur latar yang terbagi dalam enam jenis latar, yaitu lingkungan peristiwa (environment of its events), latar yang terlihat (visible background), latar waktu dalam sehari atau setahun (the time of day or year), latar iklim/cuaca (the climate), latar periode sejarah (historical period), dan latar orang-orang yang melatarbelakangi (the people in the background). Adapun fungsi latar pada penelitian ini adalah merepresentasikan suasana jiwa tokoh, mengemukakan alur, memunculkan atmosfer, dan merepresentasikan tema. Ketiga cerpen tersebut dipilih karena unsur latar yang tergambar pada ketiga cerpen tersebut lebih unggul daripada unsur-unsur pembentuk cerita lain. Latar yang tergambar dalam ketiga cerpen tersebut mampu memunculkan atmosfer dan merepresentasikan suasana jiwa tokoh. Penggambaran latar dalam ketiga cerpen tersebut memiliki pengaruh yang kuat terhadap unsur-unsur lain seperti penokohan, alur, tema, dan atmosfer. Tema utama dari ketiga cerpen itu ialah pembunuhan secara tersembunyi atau misterius yang dilakukan dengan cara menembak targetnya. Pada dua cerpen Bunyi Hujan di Atas Genting dan Grhhh! mengangkat tema sosial yang berkaitan dengan peristiwa sejarah di Indonesia pada tahun 1983 yaitu penembakan misterius atau petrus yang menjadi sebuah peristiwa nasional. Pengarang mengemukakan cerita fiktif yang didasarkan pada sebuah peristiwa faktual. Latar pemukiman penduduk, perkotaan dan jalan raya merupakan latar yang erat kaitatannya dengan peristiwa tersebut.

This research is titled "The Power of Three Short Stories Background From Penembak Misterius Antology By Seno Gumira Ajidarma". This research aims to analyze the element of settings which are divided into six types of setting; environment of its events, visible background, the time of day or year, the climate, historical period, and the people in the background. As for the function of setting in this research is to represent the ambience of a character soul, to show up the plot, to bring up the atmosphere, and to represent the theme. The three short stories are chosen as the element of settings in all of them are more superior then the other elements that form a story. The setting drawn in the three short stories are able to emerge the atmosphere and represent the ambience of a character soul. The depiction of setting in the three short stories has a strong effect to other elements such as characterization, plot, theme, and atmosphere. The main theme of the three short stories is a hidden or mysterious murder which is done by shooting the target. In the two short stories Bunyi Hujan di Atas Genting and Grhhh!a social theme related to Indonesian national historical event in 1983 namely mysterious shooting or Penembakan Misterius called petrus is brought up as a theme. The author creates a fiction based on a factual event. The setting of residential area, cities, and highway are the settings which closely related to the event.
