TRANSMISI MEMORI QUEER DAN WACANA COUNTER MEMORY DALAM NOVEL TIBA SEBELUM BERANGKAT KARYA FAISAL ODDANG: KAJIAN POSTMEMORY

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan struktur transmisi memori queer. Selain itu, juga menjelaskan memori queer sebagai counter memory untuk merespons memori heteronormatif. Objek material yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Tiba Sebelum Berangkat karya Faisal Oddang. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori postmemory yang dikembangkan oleh Marianne Hirsch dan teori queer. Teori postmemory digunakan untuk menjelaskan struktur transmisi memori antargenerasi, sedangkan teori queer digunakan untuk menjelaskan cara-cara transmisi memori subjek yang termarjinalkan secara seksualitas. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa struktur transmisi memori queer berbeda dengan transmisi memori pada umumnya, khususnya pada lingkup familial. Transmisi memori familial queer terbagi menjadi dua, yakni transmisi memori familial berdasarkan hubungan darah dan transmisi memori familial berdasarkan komunitas. Dalam komunitas, hubungan familial terbentuk melalui performativitas yang bersumber dari arsip memori kultural. Selain itu, transmisi memori afiliatif juga terdapat dalam novel tersebut. Kemudian, post-generation queer yang menerima transmisi tersebut mengalami krisis dan melakukan return journey melalui riset historis. Hasilnya, ia melakukan identifikasi secara heteropathic. Ia mampu berjarak dan memahami dirinya sebagai seorang queer. Faisal Oddang melalui novel ini menghadirkan wacana counter memory dengan menghadirkan suara queer. Dengan strategi queering, ia menentang dominasi Jawasentris yang mendominasi kesusastraan Indonesia.

This study aims to explain the structure of queer memory transmission. In addition, it also explains queer memory as a counter memory to respond to heteronormative memory. The material object used in this study is the novel by Faisal Oddangs Tiba Sebelum Berangkat. The theory used in this study is the postmemory theory developed by Marianne Hirsch and the queer theory. Postmemory theory is used to explain the structure of intergenerational memory transmission, while the queer theory is used to explain the ways of transmitting subject memory that is marginalized sexually. The results of this study indicate that the structure of queer memory transmission is different from memory transmission in general, especially in the familial sphere. Transmission of familial memory queer is divided into two, namely transmission of familial memory based on blood relations and transmission of familial memory based on community. In communities, familial relationships are formed through performativity that originates from the cultural memory archive. In addition, affiliative memory transmission is also contained in the novel. Then, the post-generation queer who received the transmission experienced a crisis and conducted a return journey through historical research. The result, on the one hand, he is distant in the memory of others, but on the other hand he is absorbed into the past. As a result, he identified heteropathically. He is able to distance and understand himself as a queer. Faisal Oddang through this novel presents a counter memory discourse by presenting queer perspective. With a queering strategy, he opposed the dominance of Jawasentris which dominated Indonesian literature.
