PREFERENSI WISATAWAN SELANCAR DALAM MEMILIH JENIS AKOMODASI DI KABUPATEN KEPULAUAN MENTAWAI

Sebagai tujuan wisata, Kepulauan Mentawai memiliki banyak potensi wisata terutama wisata bahari yaitu selancar. Banyak wisatawan selancar datang ke Kepulauan Mentawai dari seluruh dunia. Sebagian besar wisatawan tersebut merupakan pemuda dengan penghasilan rata-rata sekitar 20.000 - 40.000 USD per tahun. Kebanyakan dari mereka memiliki kemampuan selancar menengah. Motivasi terbesar untuk mengunjungi Kepulauan Mentawai adalah untuk mendapatkan pengalaman berselancar terbaik dengan alasan pribadi didasarkan pada kualitas lingkungan alamnya. Berdasarkan lokasi terdapat dua jenis akomodasi, yaitu akomodasi perkotaan dan akomodasi resor. Dalam memilih akomodasi akan terdapat preferensi, setidaknya terdapat tiga preferensi yang dimiliki oleh wisatawan selancar yaitu Harga, Fasilitas, dan Lokasi. Berdasarkan harga, perbandingan harga dengan kualitas menjadi aspek paling penting dan skornya adalah 4,59. Berdasarkan fasilitas, ketersediaan transportasi selancar menjadi aspek penting dengan skor 4,34. Dan berdasarkan lokasi, kedekatan akomodasi dengan tempat berselancar menjadi pilihan utama dan mendapat skor 4,19.

As a tourist destination, the Mentawai Islands have many potential of tourism destinations especially marine tourism which is surfing. A lot of surfers come to the Mentawai Islands from all around the world. Most of the tourists are young with average income between 20.000 - 40.000 USD per year. Most of them are intermediate surfers. The biggest motivation of the surfers to visit the Mentawai Islands is the exceptional surfing experience due to the quality of natural environment as one of the top preference. Based on location, there are two types of accommodations, which are city accommodation and resort accommodation. In choosing accommodation there will be preferences, atleast surfing tourists have three which are Price, Facility, and Location. Based on price, price compatibility with the quality becomes the most important aspect and its scored 4,59. Based on facility, availability of surfing transport becomes an important aspect scored 4,34. And based on location, the closeness of accommodation to surf breaks becomes the main preference and it’s scored 4.19.
