EKSPEKTASI KARIER MAHASISWA GENERASI Z DI UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA

Penelitian ini membahas tentang Generasi Z (lahir antara tahun 1995-2010) dengan fokus pada aspek ekspektasi kariernya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan data primer. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Mahasiswa Universitas Gadjah Mada Semester 5 pada T.A 2019/2020 yang terbagi dalam 4 klaster (Agro, Sosio-Humaniora, Medika dan Saintek). Adapun besaran sampel tiap klaster adalah 30 orang dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode Disproportionate Stratified Random Sampling (DPRS). Tujuan dari penelitian ini meliputi: 1. Untuk mengetahui bagaimana karakteristik Mahasiswa Generasi Z di UGM; 2. Mengetahui bidang pekerjaan pilihan Mahasiswa Generasi Z di UGM; 3. Menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi ekspektasi karier Mahasiswa Generasi Z di UGM; dan 4 Mengetahui prioritas karier Mahasiswa Generasi Z di UGM. Dari segi karakteristik, responden penelitian ini mayoritas berusia 20 tahun dan sebagian besar berasal dari Provinsi Jawa Tengah dan D I Yogyakarta. Dari sisi pilihan bidang pekerjaan, mayoritas memilih untuk bekerja di bidang profesional (44,2 persen). Namun, tidak sedikit pula yang ingin berwirausaha (26,7 persen) dengan persentase paling tinggi ada di Klaster Agro (43,3 persen). Sementara, kecenderungan berwirausaha paling rendah ada di Klaster Medika (13,3 persen). Sementara itu, dari hasil analisis menggunakan Chi-Square didapati bahwa faktor pengalaman kerja dan pelatihan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pilihan bidang pekerjaan di Klaster Sosio-humaniora, sementara faktor hobi merupakan yang berpengaruh signifikan di Klaster Medika pada taraf signifikansi 10 persen. Adapun untuk prioritas karier para Mahasiswa Generasi Z antara lain dampak positif pekerjaan bagi masyarakat (74,2 Persen); Kesempatan untuk mengembangkan diri (70 Persen); dan Job Security (62,5 Persen).

This study discusses Generation Z (born between 1995-2010) with a focus on aspects of career expectations. This research is a quantitative study using primary data. The population in this study were Gadjah Mada University Students Semester 5 at T.A 2019/2020 which was divided into 4 clusters (Agro, Sosio-Humaniora, Medika and Saintek). The sample size for each cluster is 30 people with sampling using the Disproportionate Stratified Random Sampling (DPRS) method. The objectives of this study include: 1. To find out how the characteristics of Generation Z Students at UGM; 2. Knowing the occupations chosen by Generation Z students at UGM; 3. Analyzing the factors that influence the career expectations of Generation Z students at UGM; and 4 Knowing the career priorities of Generation Z Students at UGM. In terms of characteristics, the majority of respondents in this study were 20 years old and most of them were from the provinces of Central Java and Yogyakarta. In terms of occupational choices, the majority chose to work in the professional field (44.2 percent). However, not a few also want to become entrepreneurs (26.7 percent) with the highest percentage in the Agro Cluster (43.3 percent). Meanwhile, the lowest tendency for entrepreneurship is in the Medika Cluster (13.3 percent). Meanwhile, the results of the analysis using Chi-Square found that work experience and training factors significantly influence the choice of occupational fields in the Sosio-Humaniora Cluster, while hobby factors are a significant influence in the Medical Cluster at a significance level of 10 percent. As for the career priorities of Generation Z Students include the positive impact of work on society (74.2 percent); Opportunity to develop themselves (70 percent); and Job Security (62.5 Percent).
