Praktik jurnalisme musik di Indonesia terus berkembang seiring dengan perkembangan industri musik yang pesat. Hubungan simbiosis mutualisme antara media dan musisi maupun pelaku industri musik lainnya terus terjadi hingga saat ini. Sayangnya di Indonesia masih sedikit ditemui tulisan-tulisan jurnalisme musik yang informatif, menghibur, bahkan menginspirasi. Saat ini, berita-berita yang ada di media mainstream didominasi oleh informasi musisi mainstream dan seputar kehidupan pribadi musisi, salah satunya detikcom. Belum lagi, jurnalisme musik seharusnya juga bisa memberikan informasi tentang karya musik dan seputarnya yang tidak hanya memberikan informasi kepada pembaca namun juga memberikan pembelajaran dan pencerahan bagi penikmat musik tanah air. Karakteristik news feature yang bersifat awet dan tak terbatas waktu dan disajikan dengan gaya naratif menjadi jawaban yang pas atas kondisi jurnalisme musik tanah air. Dengan menggunakan gaya penulisan jurnalisme sastra, penulis meramu data dan hasil wawancara dengan beberapa musisi indie menjadi artikel news feature dan dipublikasi pada kanal detikHOT. Dari sekian banyak tema yang ada, penulis memilih untuk mengangkat kesuksesan band indie mengikuti perkembangan industri musik, rilisan fisik dan pasarnya, hingga bagaimana musisi indie membantu musisi lainnya melalui bisnis yang dijalankan.

The practice of music journalism in Indonesia continues to grow along with the rapid development of the music industry. The relationship between the media and musicians and other music industry players continues to occur today. Unfortunately, in Indonesia, the writing of music journalism is rarely informative, entertaining, even inspiring. Currently, the news in the mainstream media is dominated by information on mainstream musicians and about the personal life of musicians, one of them is detikcom. Not to mention, music journalism should also be able to provide information about music works and like that not only provide information to readers but also provide learning and enlightenment for music lovers in the country. Characteristics of news features that are durable and unlimited in time and are presented in a narrative style are the right answers to the conditions of homeland music journalism. By using literary journalism writing style, the authors manage the data and the results of interviews with several indie musicians into news feature articles and are published on the detikHOT channel. Of the many themes that exist, the author chooses to make a news feature of the successful indie band following by the development of the music industry, physical release, and market, to how indie musicians help other musicians through the business that they run.
