Latar Belakang: Pemusnahan merupakan salah satu cara untuk mengatasi masalah penumpukan berkas rekam medis yang tidak mempunyai nilai guna yang berada di ruangan inaktif. Tujuan: Mengidentifikasi karakteristik responden petugas rekam medis terkait pemusnahan berkas rekam medis di RSUD Arjawinangun Kabupaten Cirebon Provinsi Jawa Barat. Mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan dan pelaksanaan pemusnahan berkas rekam medis di RSUD Arjawinangun Kabupaten Cirebon Provinsi Jawa Barat. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kombinasi dengan rancangan penelitian yaitu sequential explanatory. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui: tes, wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil: Berdasarkan data karakteristik responden dapat disimpulkan bahwa penelitian ini dapat mempengaruhi pengetahuan responden terkait pemusnahan berkas rekam medis.Tingkat pengetahuan petugas rekam medis terhadap pelaksanaan pemusnahan berkas rekam medis di RSUD Arjawinangun Kabupaten Cirebon mayoritas dengan rentang cukup Rumah sakit terakhir melakukan penyusutan berkas rekam medis tahun 2018 dan pemusnahan berkas rekam medis tahun 2008. Rumah sakit belum mempunyai jadwal penyusutan dan pemusnahan secara rutin. Oleh karena itu, ruang penyimpanan berkas rekam medis inaktif sangat penuh.

Background: Extermination is a, way to overcome the problem of accumulating medical record files that have no use value in an inactive room. In Arjawinangun General Hospital Cirebon, the Medical record file has been carried out in 2018, but the latest destruction was carried out in 2008. This causes the inactive file storage records being fulland insufficient to accommodate new inactive medical record files. Objective: Knowing the level of knowledge of the medical records officer on the material for the destruction of the medical record file and Knowing the implementation of destruction of the medical record fileat Arjawinangun General Hospital, Cirebon Regency, West Java . Method: This study use a combination method with a research design that is sequential explanatory. Data collection technik question clude: tests, interviews, observation ,and documentation studies. Result: Based on the responden charachterristic data it can be concluded that this study can influence the knowledge of the responden regarding the destruction of the medical record file.The level of knowledge of medical record officers on the implementation of the descruction of the medical record file in the Arjawinangun Hospital Regency the majority with a suffficent range.The hospital did shrink the last medical record file in 2018 and the destruction of medical record file in 2008. Therefore the storage space in the active medical record file were full.
