KRITIK SOSIAL DALAM NOVEL DAN FILM LA HOMME QUI RIT KARYA VICTOR HUGO: KAJIAN EKRANISASI

Penelitian ini menganalisis proses pelayarputihan (ekranisasi) dan menjabarkan kritik sosial pada novel La homme Qui Rit (1869) karya Victor Hugo menjadi film adaptasi La homme Qui Rit (2012) karya Jean-Pierre Ameris. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari perubahan yang terjadi setelah novel La homme Qui Rit (1869) diadaptasikan menjadi film pada tahun 2012, serta membahas kritik sosial yang terdapat di dalam film dan novel La homme Qui Rit. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Ekranisasi oleh George Bluestone dan menganalisis kritik sosial menurut Lucien Goldmann. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, perubahan yang terjadi akibat ekranisasi adalah: perubahan plot, pengurangan tokoh dan adegan, serta penambahan adegan. Kritik sosial pada novelnya adalah kritik atas ketidakadilan hukum yang berlaku pada masa pemerintahan Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte, kritik terhadap kondisi masyarakat pada abad ke-19, dan kritik terhadap ketidakpedulian kaum bangsawan dan penguasa kepada kaum proletar berdasarkan pandangan Victor Hugo. Kritik yang terdapat dalam filmnya adalah ketidakadilan hukum yang berlaku pada masa sekarang dan ketidakpedulian kaum borjuis (yang digambarkan sebagai kaum bangsawan pada film) kepada kaum proletar. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat melihat pengarang melakukan kritik sosial dalam karya sastra dan menganalisis perubahan dari proses pelayarputihan novel.

This research attempts to search the process of adaptation (ecranization) and to analyse social criticism in both of the film and the novel La homme Qui Rit (1869) by Victor Hugo. The purpose of this study is to analyse the changes after the novel La homme Qui Rit (1869) adapted into film in 2012. This undergraduate thesis also discussed some of the social criticisms contained in the film and the novel La homme Qui Rit. This research uses the theory of adaptation (ecranization) by George Bluestone and analyse social criticism according to Lucien Goldmann. Based on the results of this research, the changes that occur due to ecranization are: the change of plot, the reduction of characters and scenes, also the addition of some scenes in the film. Social criticisms that found in the novel are: critics of the laws that prevailed during the reign of Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte, critic for the society condition in the 19 century and critic for the nobilities and rulers at a time when Victor Hugo wrote the novel La homme Qui Rit (1869). Critic that found in the film are: critic for unjustice laws and critic for the careless of the rich people (pictured as a nobilities in the film) of the proletariat. It is expected that this study can see the authors social criticism in their novel and to analyse the changes of the ecranization process.
