PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN DAN KETERAMPILAN CI SEBELUM DAN SETELAH PELATIHAN BEDSIDE TEACHING DAN ONE MINUTE PRECEPTOR

Latar belakang: Pembelajaran klinik merupakan suatu proses pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman yang bertujuan untuk pengusaan keterampilan klinik dan kemampuan berkomunikasi peserta didik, sehingga dibutuhkan suatu metode yang tepat demi tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran. Pada pelaksanaan metode Bedside Teaching dirasakan mulai menurun, serta didalam proses Bedside Teaching belum terdapat metode pemberian feedback. One Minute Preceptor adalah salah satu metode pemberian feedback yang baik. Sehingga untuk meningkatkan kualitas bimbingan klinik dibutuhkan pelatihan metode bimbingan klinik pada CI (Clinical Instructure). Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan pelatihan Bedside Teaching dan One Minute Preceptor terhadap pengetahuan dan keterampilan CI (Clinical Instructure)Keperawatan. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif Pre-Experiment (Pre-Post Test design). Peneliti memberikan pelatihan metode bedside teaching dan one minute preceptor pada clinical instructure. Subyek penelitian terdiri dari 27 CI dan 38 mahasiswa yang sedang mengikuti praktik klinik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan sebelum dan setelah pelatihan menggunakan quesioner pengetahuan dan ceklis keterampilan CI. Hasil: Skor pengetahuan 27 CI sebelum mengikuti pelatihan metode bedside teaching dan one minute preceptor diperoleh nilai rerata 8,8 dan SD 1,8, setelah mengikuti pelatihan nilai rerata pengetahuan CI diperoleh 14,0 dan SD 1,6 dengan selisih 5,2 dan nilai p 0,001. Skor keterampilan CI dinilai oleh 38 mahasiswa sebelum pelatihan diperoleh rerata keterampilan CI sebesar 19,34 dan SD 4,3, setelah mengikuti pelatihan diperoleh nilai rerata keterampilan CI sebesar 26,8 dan SD 5,2 dengan selisih 7,5 dan nilai p 0,001. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan CI (Clinical Instructure) dalam melakukan proses bimbingan klinik bedside teaching dan one minute preceptor.

Background: Clinical learning as an experiential learning process aims to enable learners to master clinical and communication skills; therefore, an appropriate method is needed for the achievement of the learning objectives. Associated with a decline in the implementation of Bedside Teaching method, clinical learning is likely exacerbated when learning feedback has not been implemented properly. One Minute Preceptor is a good feedback method, so that training for clinical instructors to improve their quality in clinical supervision/mentoring is greatly needed. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Bedside Teaching and One Minute Preceptor training on the knowledge and skills of Nursing CI (Clinical Instructor). Method: This was a quantitative, pre-experiment research using a pre-post test research design. The researchers provided training methods of bedside teaching and one minute preceptor to the clinical instructors. The subjects consisted of 27 CIs and 38 students who were following the clinical practice. Data collection was conducted before and after the training using a knowledge questioner and a CI skill checklist. Result: The mean score of the 27 clinical instructors knowledge before and after the training of bedside teaching method and one minute preceptor was 8.8 (SD 1.8) and 14.0 (SD 1.6), respectively, with a difference of 5.2 and a value of p 0.001. The mean score of the clinical instructors skills assessed by 38 students before and after the training was 19.34 (SD 4.3) and 26.8 (SD 5.2), respectively, with a difference of 7.5 and a p value of 0.001. Conclusion: Training can improve clinical instructors knowledge and skills in conducting the clinical supervision of bedside teaching and one minute preceptor.
