PEMBATASAN HAK DI ARAB SAUDI DALAM CERPEN "INTIHARU HIMAR" KARYA HASAN MUFTI: ANALISIS SEMIOTIK RIFFATERRE

Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap beberapa pembatasan hak di Arab Saudi dalam cerpen Intiharu Himar yang ditulis oleh Hasan Mufti. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan teori semiotik Riffaterre, yaitu teori yang mengkaji makna sebuah karya sastra dengan penafsiran tanda. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pembacaan semiotik, yang terdiri dari pembacaan heuristik dan pembacaan hermeneutik. Hasil analisis terhadap cerpen "Intiharu Himar" diketahui bahwa terdapat beberapa bentuk pembatasan hak kemanusiaan dan pembatasan hak wanita di Arab Saudi. Hak kemanusaain yang dimaksud di sini lebih pada hak kemanusiaan terhadap budak. Bentuk pembatasan hak kemanusiaan meliputi: hak kehidupan yang layak, hak istirahat, hak menikah, hak berserikat, hak terbebas dari perbudakan, dan hak untuk mendapatkan suaka politik, sedangkan bentuk pembatasan hak terhadap wanita adalah: hak berpakaian, hak memiliki kartu identitas, hak bepergian, dan hak mengemudi. This thesis aims to show some restrictions of rights in Saudi Arabia in the short story "Intiharu Himar" written by Hasan Mufti. I analyze the short story using semiotic theory by Riffaterre. It is a theory which examines the meaning of literary works based on interpretation of the sign. The method used is semiotic readings which consist of heuristic reading and hermeneutic reading. The result of the analysis is there is some form of restrictions on human rights and restrictions of women found in Saudi Arabia. The term human rights in this thesis refers to the human rights against slave. The form of the human rights restrictions includes the right to a decent life, the right to rest, the right to get married, the right of association, the right to have freedom from slavery, and the right to get political asylum. While restrictions of the women rights are the right of dressing, the right of owning an identity card, the right of traveling and the right of driving.
