Proses reservasi yang ada di Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) saat ini masih menggunakan cara manual melalui pencatatan pada buku dan bertatap muka secara langsung. Apabila ingin meminjam ruangan, peminjam harus datang langsung ke kantor pengelola GSP untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai ketersediaan ruangan yang akan dipinjam. Setelah mendapatkan informasi ketersediaan ruangan, peminjam melakukan pemesanan yang akan berlaku 1 minggu. Kemudian peminjam harus membuat surat pengantar untuk peminjaman. Jika lebih dari 1 minggu tidak ada kabar dan tidak ada surat pengantar yang dikirim maka pemesanan akan langsung dianggap batal oleh pengelola GSP. Setelah mengirimkan surat pengantar, maka pihak pengelola GSP akan mengirimkan surat balasan yang berisi penolakan atau persetujuan peminjaman. Status peminjaman ruangan akan valid setelah peminjam membayar uang muka. Banyak peminjam yang berasal dari luar kota Yogyakarta bahkan diluar provinsi, sehingga akan sangat merepotkan jika harus datang langsung ke UGM dan melewati proses peminjamannya. Selain itu peminjam juga akan membutuhkan waktu yang lebih lama dalam proses reservasi ruangan. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, dibuat sistem informasi reservasi berbasis web Grha Sabha Pramana UGM untuk menangani masalah jauhnya jarak peminjam dan mempermudah proses reservasi ruangan. Sistem ini dibangun dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dibantu dengan framework CodeIgniter, Javascript dengan framework JQuery, webserver Apache, dan MySQL untuk pengelolaan basis datanya. Tujuan dibuat sistem informasi berbasis web agar reservasi ruangan dapat dilakukan secara terpusat dan mempermudah peminjam melakukan proses reservasi, serta dapat dilakukan secara online dengan memanfaatkan jaringan Internet yang sudah berkembang pesat. The procedure to reserve a hall in Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) Universits Gadjah Mada (UGM) still uses the manual ways which are with a hand-writing book record and face-to-face process. If we would like to book the hall, we should come over to office to gain the detail information of availability�s hall at certain time. After get the information, the client should make reservation that only lasting for one week. Then, the client should make a letter of ordering to reserve the hall. If by the week the client doesn�t send any message to GSP management, this reservation considered as canceled. But, if the client sends the letter to management of GSP, they will reply back. It could be two things, a rejection or agreement for booking the GSP hall. The reservation only valid of the client pay the down payment. There are many clients that really interesting to book GSP hall whom coming from outside Yogyakarta. It makes a people from outside Yogyakarta face some troubles if they want to reserve the GSP hall. It will waste their time and money to make those people come to UGM only for process the reservation of GSP. Beside, it takes long time to process the hall reservation because of the bureaucracy. Based from those problems, these research built a reservation information system of Grha Sabha Pramana UGM with the web-based to handle the problem for long distance client whom really want to book the GSP hall. It will be an easiest way for client to made a reservation. This system was built with the programming language PHP, and helped by CodeIgniter framework, Javascript with the JQuery framework, Apache webserver, and MySQL for basis data management. The aim to built the web-based information system for reservation hall is so the record of reservation integrated and centralized. It made the procedure of reservation turn out to be simple only using the internet connection that now is developing. Keyword : Information System, Reservation, Hall, PHP, and MySQL
