Hak cipta merupakan salah satu aspek penting bagi aset perusahaan dalam menjalankan usahanya, tanpa hak cipta akan susah bagi perusahaan untuk melindungi produk buatannya dari individu atau perusahaan lain yang berniat meniru ciptaanya. Perusahaan pada umumnya akan mendaftarkan hak cipta yang merupakan aset perusahaan yang dimilikinya untuk mendapatkan perlindungan hokum yang layak. Namun, jika dihubungkan dengan kemajuan teknologi saat ini, peraturan perundang undangan yang ada tidak cukup untuk dapat melindungi hak cipta yang merupakan salah satu aset perusahaan, terutama hak cipta program komputer dari pesaing pesaing bisnis yang beniat meniru produk suatu perusahaan.. Oleh sebab itu, untuk melindungi hak cipta program computer yang diperoleh dari pengalihan hak cipta oleh pegawai perusahaan, sangatlah perlu bagi perusahaan untuk mencari jalan lain salah satunya melalui kontrak kerja guna melindungi aset perusahaanya dan mengantisipasi terjadinya kerugian yang dikarenakan pembajakan oleh pihak lain.

Therefore, to protect the copyright of software obtained from the transfer of copyright by a company employee, it is necessary for companies to find other ways such as through an employment contract in order to protect the assets of his company and the anticipation of losses due to piracy by other parties.
