Republik Indonesia telah meratifikasi meratifikasi Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) pada tanggal 24 Juli 1984 melalui Undang-Undang Nomor 7 tahun 1984. Beberapa pertanyaan muncul berkaitan dengan penyetaraan gender, apakah setelah CEDAW diratifikasi oleh pemerintah Republik Indonesia dapat menjamin penyetaraan gender khususnya keterwakilan perempuan di bidang politik. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut maka pembahasan yang diberikan adalah mengenai bagaimana implementasi dari ratifikasi CEDAW terkait dengan peraturan yang dibuat dalam rangka menjamin keterwakilan perempuan dalam pemilihan umum DPRD Provinsi D.I Yogyakarta. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan normatif diharapkan dapat menjawab pertanyaan diatas. Dengan mengumpulkan dan mengolah data kepustakaan, data yang terdapat di lapangan serta instrumen hukum yang ada saat ini, analisa terhadap permasalahan diatas dapat dilakukan. Sehingga mampu memberikan deskripsi yang jelas dan komprehensif melalui penelitian yang kredibel dan akuntabel.

The Republic of Indonesia had ratified the Convention on The Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) since 24 of July 1984 through the Indonesian Law Number 7,1984. Several questions arise with regard to the gender equality, whether after the Convention on The Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women had been ratified by Indonesian government become succesfully or not for giving the full protection especially for women representative in politics. According to that issue, by here it will be explained about how the implementation of ratification Convention on The Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination according to the women representative regulation for general election of Regional People Representative Assembly in D.I Yogyakarta Province. By using the normative approach, It supposed to be answer all of those questions above. Through collected data from literature, law and all regulations and also supported by field researched, so It can be make the discription to be cleared and comprehensive answering will be accomplished as the result.
