Praktek Kerja Industri merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran wajib yang harus dilaksanakan oleh siswa siswa kelas 11, SMK N 1 Klaten. Setiap siswa memiliki kelompok Prakerin dan setiap kelompok, masing masing memiliki guru pembimbing serta tempat Prakerin. Pendaftaran Prakerin dilakukan dengan setiap kelompok menuliskan nama anggota dan tujuan tempat Prakerin, selanjutnya untuk diserahkan ke panitia Prakerin setiap jurusan. Panitia Prakerin akan menentukan guru pembimbing untuk masing-masing kelompok. Apabila sudah memasuki masa Prakerin, setiap kelompok diberi satu buku harian yang digunakan untuk menulis kegiatan harian masing-masing anggota kelompok. Namun, terkadang siswa lupa untuk menulis laporan dikarenakan buku harian hanya satu setiap kelompok dan dibawa oleh siswa tertentu. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, perlu dibangun sebuah sistem berbasis web dimana siswa dapat dengan mudah melakukan pendaftaran Prakerin dan menulis kegiatan harian. Hal ini juga akan memudahkan panitia dalam menentukan guru pembimbing. Selain itu guru pembimbing juga dapat menuliskan komentar pada kegiatan yang sudah dituliskan siswa. Sistem informasi ini dibangun menggunakan Bahasa pemrograman PHP, framework CodeIgniter dan basis data MySQL. Sistem ini memiliki fitur pendaftaran Prakerin, fitur menulis kegiatan, fitur untuk menambahkan komentar, fitur manambah, mengedit dan menghapus data pengguna dan Prakerin, fitur pemilihan guru pembimbing dan fitur diskusi guru dengan perusahaan.

Work Practices Industry is one of the required subjects which must be implemented by students in grade 11, SMK N 1 Klaten. Each student has Prakerin groups and each group, has a tutor and a Prakerin. Prakerin registration is done by writing the name of each group member and the company of Prakerin, then it submitted to the committee Prakerin in each department. Prakerin committee will decide a tutor for each group. If already entered a period Prakerin, each group will be given a diary that is used to write daily activities of each member of the group. However, sometimes students forget to write reports, because the diary is only one for each group and usually taken to specific students. Based on these problem, it needs to build a web-based system where the student can easily register Prakerin and write their daily activities. It will also facilitate the committee in determining the supervisor teacher. In addition, tutor can also write comments on student's activities. This information system is built using the programming language PHP, CodeIgniter framework and MySQL database. The system features; Prakerin registration, feature for writing activities, feature to add comments, feature add, edit and delete user data and Prakerin, feature selection for supervisor, and discussions for the teacher with the company.
