DATA KEJADIAN BRUCELLOSIS DI BALAI BESAR VETERINER (BBVet) WATES TAHUN 2013-2014

Brucellosis merupakan penyakit yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Brucella sp. Bakteri Brucella abortus menginfeksi sapi dan Brucella militensis pada kambing serta domba. Tujuan dari penulisan tugas akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui penyakit brucellosis yang menyerang wilayah DIY, Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Timur yang merupakan wilayah kerja dari Balai Besar Veteriner (BBVet) Wates, Yogyakarta selama tahun 2013-2014. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan pencatatan data milik BBVet Wates, Yogyakarta berdasarkan uji serologi berupa Rose Bengal Test (RBT) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Complement Fixation Test (CFT) yang dilakukan di Laboratorium Bakteriologi selama Praktek Kerja Lapangan (PKL) pada 21-24 Maret 2016. Gejala ternak yang mengalami Brucellosis adalah terjadinya abortus terutama pada usia kebuntingan tua (7-8 bulan). Penyakit ini termasuk zoonosis, sehingga dapat menular pada manusia dengan gejala yang mula-mula dirasakan adalah demam, menggigil dan berkeringat pada malam hari. Data pada tahun 2013 sampai 2014 jumlah sampel yang diuji sebanyak 5.015 sampel dan sampel positif sebanyak 649 dengan persentase 13% antara sampel positif dengan sampel yang diuji. Jumlah kejadian brucellosis pada tahun 2013 lebih banyak dari pada tahun 2014 yaitu sekitar 367 sampel positif dibanding 2014 yang hanya 282 sampel positif. Total sampel yang diuji pun pada tahun 2013 lebih banyak yaitu 2.862 sampel dan tahun 2014 hanya sebanyak 2.153 sampel. Jawa Timur sebagai provinsi dengan jumlah sampel uji terbanyak dan jumlah sampel positif brucellosis terbanyak pula.

Brucellosis is a disease caused by Brucella sp. Brucella abortus bacteria infect cow while Brucella militensis infect goat and sheep. The objective of study is to research the brucellosis disease that infects the area of DIY, Jawa Tengah and Jawa Timur which are the working regions of Balai Besar Veteriner Wates, Yogyakarta during the year of 2013-2014. The process of data collection began with Rose Bengal Test (RBT) which is a serological test, continued by Complement Fixation Test (CFT) both test conducted in Bacteriology Laboratory the intership during April 21th-24th. The CFT result determines if the cattle is infected with brucellosis. One of the symptoms of brucellosis is the occurance of abortion in old age pregnancy (7-8 months). This disease is categorized zoonosis, which means it can infect human and the initial symptoms include fever, chills and night sweats. According to data from the year 2013 to 2014, the number of tested samples is 5.015. The number of positive samples is 649, with the percentage of 13% of the positive samples with the total tested samples. The number of positive sample cases of brucellosis in 2013 is more than in 2014, which is about 367 positive samples, compared to 2014 which is only 282 positive samples. The total tested sample in 2013 is also more than in 2014, which is 2,862 samples, while in 2014 there is only about 2,153 samples. East Java is the province with the highest number of tested samples and also is the province with the highest number of positive samples of brucellosis.
