KONSISTENSI FILOSOFI DAN KONSEP TATA RUANG KAMPUS UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA YOGYAKARTA

Univesitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) sebagai salah satu perguruan tinggi tertua di Indonesia, memiliki identitas dan jati diri yang tercermin dalam penataan ruangnya yang mengacu pada konsep Sangha Mandala dan perlindungan tata ruang, serta dalam kegiatan yang mencerminkan filosofi ke-UGM-annya. Hal ini diatur dalam Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 67 Tahun 2013 tentang Statuta UGM. Namun, dalam perkembangannya saat ini, penerapan filosofi dan konsep tata ruang Kampus UGM tersebut nampak mulai mengalami pergeseran dengan makna dan konsep awalnya. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk memverifikasi seberapa jauh konsistensi dari penerapan filosofi ke-UGM-an dan konsep tata ruang yang didasarkan pada konsep Sangha Mandala (modifikasi) dan perlindungan tata ruang dalam Statuta UGM Tahun 2013 melalui verifikasi kondisi empiri di lingkungan Kampus UGM. Verifikasi ini dilakukan melalui studi pustaka, observasi lapangan, dokumentasi, dan wawancara dengan unsur Guru Besar UGM dan mahasiswa.Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menerapkan metode deduktif kualitatif verifikatif. Dari hasil penelitian ini, didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa secara umum penerapan filosofi dan konsep tata ruang di UGM memang masih dalam tataran konsisten. Namun, terdapat temuan-temuan yang menunjukkan kecenderungan pergeseran dan disorientasi (inkonsistensi) dari penerapannya. Hal ini patut diwaspadai karena dapat berpengaruh terhadap identitas dan jati diri dari Kampus UGM. Melalui penelitian ini dibahas konsistensi dan inkonsistensi dari penerapan filosofi dan konsep tata ruang UGM yang dapat dijadikan bahan pertimbangan dalam pengembangan kampus UGM ke depannya.

As one of the oldest university in Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) embedded identity that is reflected in the spatial arrangements referring to the concept of Sangha Mandala and spatial protection, as well as within activities which reflecting philosophies of UGM. It has been stipulated in Government Regulation No. 67/2013 on the Statute of Universitas Gadjah Mada. However, in its recent development, implementation of philosophies and spatial concept in UGM campus has seem to be shifted differently from its early meaning and concept. This study aimed to verify how far the consistency of the implementation of philosophies to the UGM's and its spatial concept which is based on the concept of Sangha Mandala (with modification) and spatial protection in the Statute of UGM in 2013 through empirical verification of environmental conditions at UGM. This verification is done through study of literatures, observations, documentations, and interviews with several notable Professors from UGM and students elements. Therefore, this study would hereby applying deductive-qualitative-verificative method. The result of this research concluded that in general, the implementation of philosophies and spatial concepts in UGM are still at consistent level. However, there are several findings which tend to show such shifts and disorientation (inconsistency) in the implementation. This should be noted as a concern since it may affect the identity of UGM. Through this research, it discussed discourses about consistency and inconsistency within the implementation of philosophies and spatial concepts of UGM which might be portrayed as a consideration to this campus future development.
