MANAJEMEN PEMBERIAN PAKAN KUDA PEJANTAN THOROUGHBRED DI ECLIPSE STUD AND STABLE BOYOLALI

Kuda Thoroughbred merupakan salah satu jenis kuda unggul di dunia karena memiliki postur badan tegap dan besar serta memiliki kelebihan dalam kecepatan berlari dan stamina fisik. Penulisan Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manajemen pemberian pakan kuda Thoroughbred di Eclipse Stud And Stable Boyolali. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada periode 22 - 27 Februari 2016 dengan metode pengambilan data yang meliputi observasi dan wawancara langsung dengan pegawai di lapangan. Pakan yang diberikan pada kuda sangat berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan kesehatan kuda tersebut karena kuda memiliki sifat sensitif terhadap perubahan pakan yang dikonsumsinya. Penyakit paling sering disebabkan oleh faktor pakan yaitu kolik dan kekurangan vitamin dalam tubuh. Pakan yang diberikan pada kuda di peternakan Eclipse Stud And Stable adalah pakan konsentrat, pakan hijauan dan pakan pelet, selain jumlah pakan yang diberikan, pemilik kuda juga harus mempertimbangkan kebutuhan nutrisi harian kuda yang terdiri atas protein, karbohidrat, lemak, mineral dan vitamin. Pemberian pakan sebaiknya dilakukan minimal dua kali dalam sehari tergantung dari kegiatan dan aktivitas kuda sehari-sehari.

Thoroughbreds horses is one type of superior horse in the world because it has a sturdy body and great posture and has a running speed and stamina. The purpose of is this work is to determine the management of thoroughbred horse feeding in eclipse stud and stable Boyolali. Data were collected in the period of 22 - 27 February 2016 with data retrieval methods include direct observation and interviews with employces in the field. The feed given to the horse is very influential on the growth and health of the horse because the horse has a sensitive nature too the change of feed consumed. The most common disorders are caused by dietary factors which include colic and vitamin deficiencies in the body. The feed given to the horse on the stable of eclipse stud and stable Boyolali is consentrate, forage and pellets, in addition to the the amount of feed given, the horse owners should also consider the daily nutritional need for the horse which are consist of protein, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins. The feeding should be at least twice a day depending on daily activities of the horse given.
